Only thing about the Garland thoughts. I do not think contractually he could fit with Suggs. The cap goes up as always but i don't think any team has had 4 players over 35 million a year.

It's probably an either or proposition with guys who get paid like Garland and our 3 main guys.

Random thought:

I'd pick up Bradley Beal if he is bought out by the Sun's.

Hard pass. I’m over signing guys who can never stay healthy and he’s on the wrong side of 30.

I hear you. But I'd definitely give it a go on a 1 year show and prove contract. He don't want to be in Phoenix and he can definitely shoot. I get you though

My thoughts on Fran’s is I hate how bad his 3 point has gotten. So to me I would take Luka. The thought he only wants big markets is wrong. He absolutely loved Dallas and never wanted to leave. That’s the heart we need. His offense would open us up big. He is worse at d but that’s ok in my eyes for what we have. Would b less iso. 1 man game.

"I mean, the intangibles are endless," Celtics coach Joe Mazzula said of Holiday's impact. "The mentality that he plays with, the selflessness that he plays with, but the physicality and the toughness and defensive versatility: his ability to guard different positions, his ability to pressure the basketball, his ability to take tendencies from individual [players] and just make winning plays.”

Holiday is 34 now, in the 16th season of an NBA career during which he has won two Olympic gold medals, two NBA championships and a slew of defensive honors.

In three of the past four annual NBA general manager surveys, Holiday was voted as the league's best perimeter defender. He has five times finished in the top eight in voting for the Defensive Player of the Year award, tied for the most by any guard (with Michael Jordan, Gary Payton and Tony Allen) since the award was first handed out in 1982-83. He has been named to the All-Defensive first or second team in six of the past seven years. NBA head coaches say he's a nightmare to game plan against. Several stars -- including Kevin Durantand Damian Lillard -- have called him either the NBA's best defensive guard or its best defensive player.

Just feels like this is destiny.

Jrue's offense is only going to get worse. It's been pointed out how low we are in almost all offensive metrics, and how our record is mostly due to our defense!

We don't need Holidays defense. Guards age terribly. Getting a vet guard used to mean getting one between 28 and 32, not over 34!

So many guys falling off now, luckily i don't see Weltman wanting an old guy. The only old guy i would want would be Vucevic for sentimental reasons, at the right price! Not Durant,no CP3 or Paul George, Harden,Westbrook or any guys over 33.

Starting next year at age 35, Holiday's salary for the next 3 years is $32M, $35M, and a player option at $37M.  The Celtics will have to attach a lot of assets to get off that contract in the current CBA.
