Add to that the injury concerns of Embiid and George, and the East is wide open. It's wild. I'm super grateful for our youth and our core, and I can't wait to see what's next. I was listening to Give and Go, XM radio ch 86, and when asked about all of the injuries to the top players in the east this season, Antonio Daniels stated that all of the players were wearing low cut basketball shoes with no ankle support as a contributor to this problem. I wonder how much weight/credibility anyone else have given this? Quote

Young Daniels Risacher Johnson Porzingis I am not sure if Porzingis can stay on the court, the C's had a decent 3 man rotation that was able to cover the mystery illness that keeps him of the court for a large part of the schedule. I doubt the Hawks will be able to hide him next season, like the Celtics have been doing. Quote

Young Daniels Risacher Johnson Porzingis That's a very weird trade for Boston. Sure they traded KP but got basically nothing in return. Maybe that was the goal... to really dump salary. Quote

Soul Bro Posted June 24, 2025 Author Report Posted June 24, 2025 Quote Yossi Gozlan @YossiGozlan The Boston Celtics have reduced their luxury tax penalty by nearly $210 million by trading Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday for Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang. $238 million in total savings so far and are now $4.5 million below the second apron. https://x.com/YossiGozlan/status/1937646880508510406 That's a lot of money saved. 1 Quote
All Eyes On Me Posted June 25, 2025 Report Posted June 25, 2025 So happy for Franz, he gets his brother on his team and now his son gets traded into his division. Quote

CTMagicUK Posted June 25, 2025 Report Posted June 25, 2025 "Word is that the Hawks, at roughly $30 million below the luxury-tax line, are expected to register interest in a sign-and-trade deal with Minnesota to try to acquire Nickeil Alexander-Walker" - per Mark Stein. A sign and trade will be more than the MLE so you can cross NAW out for us if this is true. EDIT: if Atlanta is healthy a rotation of Trae/Daniels/Johnson/Risarcher/Okongwu/NAW/Porzingis is on its way to being a pretty strong team. Quote
CTMagicUK Posted June 25, 2025 Report Posted June 25, 2025 Alex Martins is stepping down. This is... weird. Does this mean something? Or nothing? EDIT: ok I've read the Sentinel piece and mostly I'm just concerned that the next generation of Devos' are getting involved and it might lead to a situation where we end up having some nepo baby making basketball decisions (see: the Denver Nuggets) Weltman is, unless I missed something, out of contract after this year and whilst I don't think he's done a flawless job I'd prefer the good he has done not be torn down by someone new who wants to make their own mark or be ruined by some terrible ownership decisions (see: the Phoenix Suns) Quote
tkranole Posted June 25, 2025 Report Posted June 25, 2025 No idea if he’ll retire or not but Al Horford could be a sneaky good option in the front court. Quote
