hootie249 Posted June 21 Report Posted June 21 Reed has a very high cap hit for a player who will not play much, however they aren't going to give him away. If the Rockets do not make a huge move before the season, he will be kept as trade bait. This is unless he starts to show some signs of becoming Fred's replacement. Expect the Rockets to decline the team option for VanVleet and re-sign him to a multi year deal. I only see him leaving if the Rockets try to get Giannis or Durant. Quote

Would it be worth going after VanVleet before Mo and Goga's positions are cemented? Quote

MagicMan1979 Posted June 21 Report Posted June 21 Here is an article that lists all the free agents and where they are predicted to go. They have Orlando getting Tyus Jones as a back up PG. Team: Phoenix Suns Prior: No. 20 2024-25 Salary: $3.0 million Rights: Non-Bird Jones is a borderline starter, a low-turnover guard who can shoot three at a high clip. He's also relatively small in height and stature, which can compromise a playoff defense. While he can rack up assists, he's not a Ja Morant or Kyrie Irving attacking guard applying constant drive pressure. But he's super-stable, easy to fit on almost any team and looking for a pay raise after money ran dry last season, and he ended up with the Suns on the minimum. Everything he does well fits the Orlando Magic's needs. What he doesn't, the Magic provides with a big, tough, long physical roster. Prediction: The Orlando Magic, who need ball-handing and shooting, pick up Jones for the TMLE. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25208928-2025-nba-free-agency-big-board-and-landing-spot-predictions Quote
All Eyes On Me Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 I might get eye rolls for this, but watching TJ McConnell impact the finals has me thinking we should address our PG issue by bringing back *drum roll…. Markelle Fultz on the minimum. He was mentored by TJ. We could play him in a lineup where we don’t need him to be a threat to shoot; and he could be in a 10-12 mpg bench role with almost no pressure. If he’s struggling, we pull him. Just thinking of cheap alternatives. It’d be fun to bring him back in a better position to succeed 1 1 Quote
Shine88 Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YnQ9ua1HPjQ&t=649s Magic offered the Bulls Cole Anthony, Jonathan Isaac and two 1st round picks for Coby White. I think this was the offer they tried to pull off around the trade deadline. Quote
A Better DJ & Photographer Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 Bane was an amazing move for us! I've liked him a lot since he came into the league. IMO he is better than anybody we could have drafted with any of the picks we traded. 1 Quote
Shine88 Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 NBA insider Marc Stein has reported that the San Antonio Spurs remain interested in trying to pry Sean Sweeney away to be Mitch Johnson's top assistant, Jared Dudley is still in contention to be the top assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies, and now the Orlando Magic are trying to convince player development legend God Shammgod to leave the Mavs. The Magic's head coach, Jahmal Mosley, was an assistant with the Mavs from 2014-2021 and developed a close relationship with many players and coaches. Shammgod is a legendary name in the lore of basketball, as his signature crossover is still being replicated on occasion today. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/magic-spurs-grizzlies-threats-to-steal-away-mavericks-coaches/ar-AA1GLl3W Definitely would help our guys with their ball handling, especially Suggs and Black.
