FFTL2.....good job when you decided to create this posting !!!!!

Thanks but I should’ve added Mosely too. He does not develop players or and offense.

I don't think we can ask too much more of Mosley.....he is trying, he speaks to the media, he never says his team has been disseminated by injuries.

When Paolo came back after missing about 25 games, he wasn't fit, he was really a mess. Yeah, they need to figure out a better offensive system for this group and beyond.

The one that doesn't talk to anybody is Weltman and although he has had some successes, he has failed to improve the team the last 2 years. Won't be surprised if we see him go.

A lot of teams have been active and have improved their rosters, leaving the Magic to be a middle of the pack team at best.

Here's my take: the team is decently well-constructed. Paolo and Franz just do not bring the energy to make the guys around them believe they can be better. That was lost with Mo and with Suggs, and these two injuries have been the primary catalyst for our free-fall.

Paolo and Franz are both great, but neither of them inspire greatness in the other players, and neither does Mo. We have lost our on-court vocal leaders in Suggs and Mo and that has made all the difference in the world during this free-fall, not the roster construction, but the personalities that mesh together to create a cohesive unit.

To say that Paolo, an overall 1st round pick doesn't inspire the other players in the team to bring their best is saying a lot........but the truth is the truth.

Good take. Yes, both may be great players but I'm not sure either is a great leader.

Leadership is gained through teaching how to be a leader, your just not born with it. Mosely has failed miserably in this context. His offensive concepts seem to be just put the ball in Paolo or Franz’s hands and let them work iso. Then if doubled, throw it to someone or power through everybody and hope an unbalanced low percentage shot goes in. This NOT a way of creating a team or leadership.

And we also failed in surrounding them with the leaders that would teach them how to be better and make others better. A few days ago I wrote that Paolo was part of the problem (not the problem, but not helping finding solution) and got downvoted for that...

I think that's a fair take, too. Unfortunately, I'd guess that KCP was brought onto the roster to teach/model leadership, as well, given his championships, but clearly that's failed. We need a dog who will teach and even keep our stars accountable.

Having been part of a championship team doesn't translate to being a great leader IMO, and there's no security that such a player is able to teach that part... I haven't read anywhere about KCP being considered such a kind of player. Other guys were clearly the leaders in those championship teams.

Wagner's profile screams "superstar" more than Banchero's

Estimated Plus-Minus is a model that tries to predict a player's impact on his team; here are the top 10 players in EPM this season, according to Dunks & Threes:

  1. Nikola Jokic
  2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  3. Donovan Mitchell
  4. Luka Doncic
  5. Giannis Antetokounmpo
  6. Jayson Tatum
  7. Stephen Curry
  8. Joel Embiid
  9. Kyrie Irving
  10. Franz Wagner

That's a whole lot of MVPs, All-NBAs and championship rings ahead of Wagner on the list.

So Paolo, "a superstar" and the future franchise player of this team has been fooling us until just recently?  See bullet # 3

Key Characteristics of a Superstar Player

1. Exceptional Skillset

  • Versatility: The ability to excel in multiple aspects of the game, such as scoring, defense, passing, or leadership23.

  • Physical Ability: High levels of strength, speed, agility, and endurance, which allow them to perform at a superior level14.

2. Mental and Emotional Attributes

  • Confidence: Belief in their abilities and decision-making under pressure1.

  • Passion: A deep love for the game that drives them to continually improve and perform at their best1.

  • Mastery: A deep understanding of the game, including strategies and opponents, which helps them make informed decisions1.

3. Leadership and Team Impact

  • Inspiration: The ability to elevate the performance of teammates through leadership and example24.

  • Communication: Effective communication skills to coordinate with teammates and execute game plans1.

4. Fame and Recognition

  • Public Profile: A high level of fame and recognition beyond just their sport, often extending into popular culture6.

5. Consistency and Achievements

  • Consistent Performance: Consistently delivering high-quality performances over time4.

  • Awards and Accolades: Accumulation of prestigious awards and accolades, such as MVPs or championships4.

These characteristics not only make a player exceptional on the field or court but also impact their team's overall performance and success.
