My prediction. If the team ends up out of the playoffs then the firing commences, but even if they sneak into the play in games then nothing will happen.

Fire Weltman either way.

I'd be down with making a change, but I don't think it'll happen at the top. However, if we miss the playoffs, or really struggle in the playoffs, I do think we'll see a significant roster change.

First: hope that missing playoff doesn't happen, would be a real meltdown.

If happen, I wouldn't blame the coach for that, but coaches usually pay before management.

OMG, if this is true. We need a change. This man won’t make us contenders! But i do appreciate what type of team chemistry he was able to build.

I don’t think this is a made up story either. I always get that impression with Weltman. I mean, dude went to sleep after the first round two years ago. They called it a day and just sold the pick.

I also said we could have drafted Lively and traded him to Dallas and got something extra. We just don’t have the guts. It was so openly known that Dallas only wanted Lively and pair him with Luka.

We have assets now! We can’t waste this opportunity and Weltman is wasting them.

Yeah i'm with you. And i am pretty sure AB was drafted once they missed out on a Thompson. Hey AB is a long tall wing like them so why not!

I also believe they wanted Wallace and when OKC traded up they panicked and licked Jett.

I'm going to just offer a healthy amount of scepticism on that Windhorst quote. Take it or leave it I don't care.

The reason he had to ask another team is because our front office doesn't talk to the media. Because they don't talk to the media it becomes very easy for media talking heads to say whatever they want and get away with it unchecked.

I don't personally believe that comment because I think it's bordering malpractice for that to be the truth and I highly doubt Jeff Weltman would have got so high up in this world without someone saying "yo that guy is crazy he never wants to trade any of our players".

Blind belief in anybody is moronic. But track record says that windhorst is speaking the truth.  The only time WaitMan has made trades is when he finally was forced to break up the Vooch team because the whole dam world knew it wasn’t going anywhere.

look up malpractice in the dictionary, you might see Weltman’s face.

I’d guess the truth is somewhere in between the extremes, of course, but the proof is in the pudding. Regardless of what he’d say to defend himself, the evidence is we’re terribly inactive in the trade scene every deadline, every offseason and every draft. Then you look at his career prior to Orlando and while he improved the Bucks and Raptors a good amount, they both didn’t get to the finish line and win their titles until he was gone. Maybe there’s something to it, he seems to be afraid to make any move for fear of it going poorly, but that inactivity year after year is worse IMO. Especially with draft capital. If you’re going to be as stingy with your 1sts you better not blow early lottery picks. Jett at 11 with the depth and youth our team already had was insane. Should’ve traded the pick. It’ll be rinse and repeat with the mid to late 20s Nuggets pick we get this year. Had a window to sell it for more than it’s going to wind up being worth and didn’t take advantage.

exactly. I never believe words but i believe in actions.

And we haven’t been aggressive with assets ever. We’d be criticizing Weltman more if it wasn’t for the Chicago trade. That’s the one that saved him.

We literally waited too long for everything. We waited til Fournier had no more value, we basically waited too long to get maximum assets for our best asset AG as well.

And you could even argue that Vooch could have been traded for more assets, if Weltman had better timing and would have went full rebuild when it was needed instead of evaluating for multiple years.
