This will be at least the third summer we are going to address our offensive issues. Less talk, more action.

This is actually the most damning indictment of our front office that I have read. If we can’t make a trade without getting fleeced because of the holes everyone knows we have in a team they built,  that says it is time for a new approach and someone with a different mindset and vision to lead us.

That did it for me as well. If you have created such a mess that you can’t get out of it, it’s time for you step down and let someone come in who can. Maybe it takes losing someone we didn’t want to lose. Maybe it’s protecting a lottery pick and using that but you can’t just sit here every season getting paid millions to just dig deeper holes.

Got 5 seconds into and I’m done . We’ve been at the bottom offensively for 5 years. Not just at this deadline. He’s been here for 8.

You already know my opinion. The Vooch trade was more about how bad the Bulls run things then how we took advantage of them. The Paolo thing was just what he should have done and Franz seems more like luck. Almost all his draft picks seem highly suspect in context and how they turned out.

Guy is old school and it's time to pass the torch.

Thanks for posting. I appreciated Weltman’s raw honesty on the struggles of our team. Never heard him speak like that before.

I suggest you look back to his interview with Robbin’s years ago. Says the exact same thing. He’s a fraud.

I agree. He’s somewhat a fraud. I like the way he built a team and great chemistry. But this is a sport. You can’t just have a family. Things will go south with that kind of locker room, especially if things don’t go well.

He‘s unable to make that next step. He was good for establishing a foundation, but that’s not what we need right now.

It’s telling that he says teams want to fleece him. All this talk about being a respected franchise, doing agents good, having good relationships is bs. It helped him nothing besides being the nice guy getting fleeced.

What does he think will happen in the next offseason. I’ve said it before. We have 4 draft picks coming up. Teams already know they can basically have our second round picks for cash in the offseason. No wonder nobody wants our second round picks in any trades, they can be had for cash. Same teams will call us in the offseason.

We have two first round picks, we don’t have the roster spots for them. Again, we are waiting to get fleeced once again.

Speaking of getting fleeced. Mo Wagner talked about his contract negotiations in that documentary. Magic offered 8mil, he wasn’t happy would have probably extended, but he wanted respect and at least 10 mil. Well he extended for 11mil per year. What kind of business man does that?

Quote from our boy Weltman “We would like to see who we are before we make any seismic changes to the team.” Are you kidding me?! The guy wears glasses and he still can’t see who we are? Resigning players who are always injured, not bringing in a pg to help with initiating the offense and spacing the floor. Instead playing Suggs out of position and then still asking him to be a dog on the defensive end, no wonder he’s always hurt. Sticking with guys who shouldn’t be on an NBA roster Caleb Houstan/Jett Howard/Trevelin Queen. I can keep going but you get my point. This guy is way in over his head and the Devos family is going to let this nonsense continue.

I ran out of likes but +1 from me, I completely agree.

Jeff Weltman on Open Mike with @BianchiWrites on @969gameon admitted, “I am disappointed we didn’t come out with anything. I’d like to have maybe have an impact player added to our team.” He added “that said we just weren’t ready to chase it & throw away what we’ve been building”

This is crazy disappointing! I already believed we had better assets available than what Fox got traded for. We could have easily beat that offer but imo AB needed to be included and imo Weltman didn’t want to give that up.

Fox is the one player that bothers me a lot. You can’t see what impact he already has on the Spurs. He would have been a great fit for us. I just don’t understand how you are not aggressive in order to get him. If the Spurs had included Castle or Vassell, ok. We couldn’t have beat that. But they didn’t and we had AB, Jett maybe even TDS along our draft picks to get a player, that would make us truly contend.

I believe Weltman likes projects. He has history of drafting guys with physical attributes and undeveloped skills in hopes to build those skills up and that’s where it stops. When it comes to building a team to win, I don’t think he has it in him to let go of those projects. He will ride them hoping he was right until they have no value whatsoever to trade.

Hes a guy you bring in to dismantle and initiate a fresh start. He’s not a guy who builds a winning team.

He’s like the individual who has spent 30,000 on scratch offs to win 25,000.

If so, that’s not good. Honestly, I’m not sold he can build a true winner.
