That's true, but it's also similar to the reasoning that FO applied season after season... "we have cap space? Let use it on giving new contracts to our own guys, and even if it's too much money, who cares, we would not use it anyway"...

Also, Huerter is another SG, even if we trade one in that deal, we would still have a lot of guys in the same role.

Ya know, I think he’d be a much less effective player without LeBron and without a superstar whistle that you get for wearing purple and gold, but if there was some sort of Austin Reaves for Goga + package out there, we’d have to consider it. Lakers are desparate for a big man after dealing AD. If we could trade Wendell this year, I feel like he’d already be there

That's my take as well but i'm afraid they can't afford to trade him and still be competitive. They need a trade like the Kings Jonas trade. Reeves is too important to just fielding a starting 5.

To elaborate that's one player past his peak, 2 players who have not reached their peak and one player i'm pretty sure i know what his peak is, Franz. I'm not saying Franz has peaked he is 2 or 3 years from his prime. I just think we can truly see what he is going to be.  Paolo should be a super star and Suggs an all-nba defensive 3 and d guy but they are much more up in the air i think.

Well a G-league title is better than no title at all. But although you may not have realized it, I wasn’t actually being serious, just a little humorous.Our chance of coming up with Durant is zero.

Regarding the showcasing discussions, the way our players have been playing, the best way to showcase them is to hide them on the bench.  That way, other GM’s could at least imagine them playing great in their teams uniform, and not have to view the awful reality on the floor.

A breakdown of every trade deadline since Weltman’s been here. The only trade he won is the Vucevic trade in 2021. The only other one where I was legitimately excited was the Fultz deal in 2018, even if it didn’t work out and it looks bad in revisionist history since the pick we traded turned into Tyrese Maxey. Everything else has been super small moves and essentially giving up assets to get 2nd rounders that we basically just lit on fire.
