2025 NBA Trade Deadline Thread

2021 actually, and as previosuly wrote, at that point trading the mediocrity Vuc+Fournier+Aaron (even if I still miss the latter) was almost due. Actually, they were late on that too...

Nah the Bol Bol trade was 2022. He’s the last player we acquired via trade and actually logged some playing time. 2021 and the Vucevic trade in particular are the only reasons Weltman still has a job. Gotta love that business model, wish it work that way for me. Do something worth a damn once every 5 years at work, and get a no questions asked long term contract

My bad, misunderstood your post, I was meaning the last trade that was useful to the team we have now (Wendell and Gary). Bol Bol was fun, but also fast to disappear.

If he cant improve, I think firing Mose may be better for us and looking for an alpha coach in the offseason. Maybe we could pry Dan Hurly. We wont but that would help us.

That's a really provocative thought.

I think FO just has the same opinion some of the experts here: we are contenders just as we are right now.

LMFAO!

Hahahahaha we certainly are ... my expertise says so

I believe it really is coaching issues. Our team has some dogs on it, but I think they have been mismanaged. The media really thought highly of coach Mosely last year and he seems like a nice guy and the team seems to like him, but I dont think he is really doing a great job. He gets credited for instilling a good defensive team, but I think it is the talented young roster we have that is the reason we are good on defense.

I am all for coach development as I am for player development, but I want an alpha coach that is an offensive guru.

I dont see why Houston's team is doing better than us. I believe our roster is better than there's but Ime Udoka is an alpha that gets the most out of his players.

JJ Redick is getting a lot out of his LA roster.

I would like Dan Hurly, or maybe give Steve Nash another shot at coaching. Jason Kidd didnt last long with Bucks or Nets but is doing a good job with the Mavs. Maybe see if any other elite former players look promising to coach. I'd like to take a shot on Rajon Rondo if he is willing to coach. That man is a basketball genius.

Even see if Mark Jackson or even Scott Skiles would be down to coach again.

Bravo :).  I really think we should have done something like that, though. That way no one could complain about us being inactive!

Is anyone surprised that nothing happened at the trade deadline?

I'm not surprised no. I thought we would of made a move. But I'm still behind Weltman n co. Calling for his head and some of the stuff I've read on Twitter/X is outrageous

Like borderline mentally unstable stuff lol

Yeah kind of like blindly believing the Magic management will win a chip.

Chiming in - I think we like cohesion. We care about the fact that the locker room is tight and we've clearly shown we had a deep team that can win while Paolo / Franz were out.

"Let's not blow it up yet" is the feeling I would guess that they had.

No need to blow up anything, just get someone who can play point guard and shoot league average. I guess I’m asking for Wayyyyy too much.
