If Tre Johnson makes it to like pick 10 trade whatever our pick is, plus the Denver pick, plus whatever else it takes to get him... That's if we don't just fall into the lottery and have the pick to use on him anyway.

Dude can hoop.

Plus he has experience making something happen from nothing on a team bereft of talent and lacking offensive scheme lol

(This is all a fantasy he's probably going top 5)

Impossible to get!

Tre Johnson is this years S. Castle for me. I’m on the record saying i would have traded this years ORL and DEN pick in order to move up for Castle. Would that have been doable if we would have been aggressive? I don’t know. We probably would have had to move up before the Spurs.

Well this year i’d sell a farm for Tre. He’s exactly what we need. I just don’t see an attractive package we can offer. Tre is going to be a Top 5 pick imo

You're probably right.

More in our range, I'm a big Jase Richardson fan. Smooth combo guard, only 6'3ish but he looks really good for a freshman. Plays under control, efficient scorer from everywhere, 2.2 Ast/TO ratio for a freshman guard in the Big 10 is phenomenal.

I wish he took more offensive load, his offense in general is basically too small of a sample to be certain he's not just having a hot streak. But everything suggests he's a good shooter.

Concerned if he's too small to be a 2 guard and not a good enough playmaker to be a PG.

I'd pick him in the teens. His stock feels a little lower than that currently but think he could rise as high as lottery with a good tourney.

(Son of Jason Richardson for those unaware)

EDIT: actually just seen Sam Vecenie has Jase at 11 on his big board. Maybe he's already risen, ESPN had him at 30 earlier this month.

I might have a new favourite prospect for us: Sergio de Larrea. 6'6 PG, shoots 40% from 3, awesome vision as a passer.

Very turnover prone currently but he's young (just turned 19) playing in a men's league so to be expected somewhat from a PG. And I think his stock is a little low currently because he's on the bench of a deep team in Spain so he's not getting a lot of playing time.

Need to see more from him to see if he's not a turnstile on defense etc but he's exciting.

After the Doncic shock, should be clear that nobody is impossible to get, even more a rookie that is not even the n1 in his draft and has not played a single game in NBA yet! :P

But FO doesn't make movements for establish players, I doubt that they will for Tre Johnson.

I don't think one team doing something insane should reset our expectations about what is and isn't likely.

Especially because we're talking about our front office needing to be aggressive in this case.

So, declining the options on G Harris, Cory Joseph, and Caleb Houstan would get us under the 1st apron, even with the two first round salaries (projected 120% of picks 15 &25), which would open up a better MLE, and a roster space for that exception. I doubt we decline Moe's option, and the rest we are tied to.  I don't see us signing any of our two-way guys to a full roster spot, so we either need to make trades, or salary dumps to open up space.

Give me Kam Jones with the Denver pick. The guy has a pro game. Would be a good replacement for Cole.
