CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 14 I think it's underrated how much this team could benefit from a vertical spacer, someone who could sky for a lob in the half court regularly. That alone could help Paolo and Franz from facing walls of bodies if they had someone to throw the lob to over and over again until the opposing big man had to stay with it. With that in mind Joan Beringer is interesting from what little I've seen. He's rail thin and one of the youngest guys in the draft who's only been playing basketball seriously for like 3 years apparently but he's a really fluid near 7 footer with a high motor playing legit minutes in a men's league and in the Euro Cup. Blocks shots, finishes around the rim. Fouls too much. Classic raw athletic big man stuff.

CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 21 I'm pretty interested in both Ivisic brothers for entirely different reasons. They're both old for under classmen but they're still interesting. Tomislav is just a really solid big man, he's a better rebounder, passer (really like him as a passer) and finisher than his brother and he's shown some potential as a stretch big without really being a great shooter. And he's kind of an uninspiring shot blocker for a 7 footer in college. Whereas Zvonimir is just a weird mess of exciting stuff. He turns the ball over quite a lot. He fouls a lot. He plays more light weight than his brother too from what I've seen. But he's a big time shot blocker and an incredibly high volume 3 point shooter for a 7 footer. He's literally the only player in Barttorviks database who has ever had a block% above 10, and attempted more than 10 3P/100 possessions whilst shooting over 40% from 3. Since 2008 (when Barttorviks database starts) there has literally never been, statistically speaking, a better combination of shot blocker and 3 point shooter. orlandoholic 196 Report post Posted February 22 If we’d ever use 2nd round picks we’d have to draft one of those brothers (i’d prefer Zvonimir) and Mark Sears. But we are not drafting in the second round so i guess it’s pointless to discuss lol

Although to be fair if I had to guess I'd say we probably don't end up using that either.

CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 24 Nique Clifford should be in contention for the Denver pick (if we use it). He's 23 and a 5th year Sr but he's just good at basketball. Just a solid bench wing bet. 6'6, strong, a little wooden and upright looking, not like an elite athlete but I think good enough to compete against NBA players given his size and strength. Pretty good defense both straight up on the perimeter and in help, great rebounder for someone his size. He's a solid shooter (36% for his college career) and I think he has decent shooting indicators to project to the next level, he shoots like 48% on long 2s and lots of those are either off screens or off the dribble. People with that kind of touch are usually safe bets to be good NBA 3 point shooters. Also taken more of a playmaking load this season too, he faces some Paolo looking defenses at times and deals with it quite well for someone who doesn't really have a primary creator skill set. Positive A/TO ratio and about 4 assists a game. He doesn't necessarily help this team with its major weaknesses but you're not likely to find the stuff we need in the late 20s anyway. At that pick you're kind of just looking for someone who'll still be in the league in 4 years time and presuming this is the last year for both Houston and Harris we could use another wing at the back end of the roster who can give you 10-15 mins as necessary. orlandoholic 196 Report post Posted February 24 Do you already have a Tier list for each of our picks.. I thinknlast years draft we had a pretty good understanding who we’d draft with our pick.. I just would have liked to see who we would have drafted if Ware, McCain, TDS would have been available for us. I still think we would have drafted TDS though. I probably would have went McCain as i thought he’d be a great compliment for that starting crew and we wouldn’t have needed to spend on KCP.
CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 24 2 minutes ago, orlandoholic said: Do you already have a Tier list for each of our picks.. I don't really do that. I tend to just do an overall top 30ish that has a Magic specific slant (by which I mean my general boards always tend to be influenced based on how I view the draft for the Magic specifically even subconsciously). To be honest I feel miles away from doing that right now with how little I've cared about the top picks given my assumption we'd be nowhere near picking them. I'm probably not going to get to a top 30 I feel remotely happy with considering how little I've watched of some of the top guys. My ranking would end up being: 1. Cooper Flagg 2-15 - some mess of guys I mostly have vague half formed opinions on from second hand sources and little bits of film. 15-30 - guys I've actually spent time on. So I don't know what I'm going to do really. Maybe I'll just wait for a vague consensus to form around draft time once I know where our picks are and produce some rankings that don't contain the top guys. CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 26 Wondering if Jacksen Moni will be a real prospect come draft time. He's a Senior with only 1 year D1 experience having transferred from JUCO and I'm not going to lie and say I've seen any North Dakota State games but he's 6'10 and averaging 20ppg and shooting 41% from 3 (and generally meets a bunch of baselines for what I'd consider a great shooting prospect). Which is interesting.
fan for too long 2 567 Report post Posted February 27 T. Ivisic looked really good in last game. Looked fully recovered finally from mononucleosis. I want him. Oh wait that sounded, oh wait can’t say that either. Oh well. Lol.
CTMagicUK 1,614 Report post Posted February 27 If Tre Johnson makes it to like pick 10 trade whatever our pick is, plus the Denver pick, plus whatever else it takes to get him... That's if we don't just fall into the lottery and have the pick to use on him anyway. Dude can hoop. Plus he has experience making something happen from nothing on a team bereft of talent and lacking offensive scheme lol (This is all a fantasy he's probably going top 5)
