All Eyes On Me Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 Good win. Best KCP and WCJ games of the season. Franz and Paolo both over 20 for 11 games in a row! Just need to win one of the last 3 to lock up the 7 seed. Do it tomorrow and hopefully we can give the guys that need it some rest before the play-in game. Quote
CTMagicUK Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 I loved the fact that, recognising the Hawks were guarding Paolo with their 5, we tried to get WCJ the ball on smalls inside, he attacked the offensive glass and got fouled multiple times, it was just simple, smart, strategy. That's the WCJ I want to see. Aggressive. Loved it. KCP was awesome, probably his best game of the season. Paolo and Franz did Paolo and Franz things. Good win. Quote
Luke_FfS Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 When you keep the Hawks around 100 (they made more, but last ones were almost garbage time) you've a great chance to win, as they're a terrible defensive team. That game was key for our position (Cavs helped us too, beating CHI that has a favorable tiebraker against us), now let's focus on the next ones. We need still to grow, but recently there've been good signs about the supporting cast. Joseph inclusion apart, KCP is having a good stretch, same for Houstan with good 3p%, WCJ is also looking way better than the awful start of the season he had, and AB is growing and contributing too. hootie249 Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 Team is coming through when it matters. Season winding down so every win is a good win. Quote
All Eyes On Me Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 Celtics will be without Tatum, Holiday, Porzingis, White and Horford tonight. Jaylen Brown is a game time decision but would be shocked if he plays. Boston is locked into the 2 seed no matter how the season ends. Let’s take care of business tonight and clinch the division and the 7 seed Quote
MagicMan1979 Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 Great team win last night! KCP has really stepped up the last few weeks. Carter seems to have turned a corner also. I am so happy with how Franz and Paolo have played since the Allstar Break. We really have two very young stars to build around. We are 7-3 in our last ten. It’s nice to see the sky isn’t falling like it did a few weeks ago. Let’s beat Boston tonight and keep the momentum going! Quote

While I agree with all of this my fear is that our FO will use that as an excuse to not make any moves in the offseason and we’re back to square 1. Most of the fan base if not all acknowledge the fact we’re in desperate need of a true pg and another shooter to help spread the floor and keep defenses honest. If we fail to get Paolo and Franz that sort of help over the summer we’d be wasting another year of possibly making a deep playoff run and our young team gaining that invaluable playoff experience. TrueMagicFan07 Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 I am very happy that we won against the Hawks last night. Most of you know that I am a die-hard Magic fan. But my biggest concern is we have a few games to go in the regular season, then perhaps the playin. But the way the Magic played last night is not sustainable. We all know injuries do happen. First: All 5 starters played a lot of minutes and scored a lot of points. **Banchero played 37 minutes and Franz played 40 minutes** We've got to get more help from the bench (hopefully in scoring). Second: I couldn't watch the game, so I don't know who came off the bench first, AB or Cole. As much as we complain about Cole, he does get hot every now and then. Last night, he played 10 minutes and scored only one point. Third: Who was the backup center last night? I saw where Goga was listed as DNP. Is he injured?. At some point we need him against taller, bigger centers on other teams. Quote

To answer your questions, the heavy starter minutes are pretty typical for a tight playoff rotation. 6th man was Caleb Houstan which has been pretty consistent for the past couple weeks, and Isaac played backup Center. I think barring injury, the rotation last night is going to be what we see in the playoffs with Goga and Da Silva only playing if there’s foul trouble. Quote
