MagicOne Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 I didn't come here to lose tonight. I demand that we win this basketball game. I want the victory. I smell ULTRA! Quote
MagicOne Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 Just about have that 7th seed all wrapped up. That is huge. It gives us two games at home to win one and make the playoffs. Of course, hopefully we win that first game and nail down the 7 seed and face the Celtics in the playoffs. There's a good chance that it could be the Hawks we are facing to determine who finishes at 7. That means we would be facing them for the third time in about a week. Unless Miami or Chicago sneaks up a spot. Dare I ask if there is a preference among us Magic fans of which team you would rather face in the 7 and 8 seed match up? Atlanta, Miami, or Chicago? Quote
argentinaworldchampion Posted April 9, 2025 Report Posted April 9, 2025 I dont like how we play offense is only banchero iso's. we only have 2 serviceable players in the whole roster. the rest is awful gary harris collects a paycheck for this? they should train free throws every day, terrible shooting 1 2 Quote

They panned real quick once the cameraman noticed what the sign said and I about died laughing! Quote

WCJ had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 blocks. KCP contributed 15 points as well. The ball movement was very good as was the spacing. This all had the arena lathered into a frenzy. Stuff had the fans fired up. Order in the universe was restored with this Magic victory this evening. Yeah, we missed a couple of free throws. Yes, we got owned on the glass. But we won the game. And Coach Mose just touched on the free throws and rebounding in the post-game presser. They will work on it and get better. Right now, I am gonna celebrate this win with a nice juicy Big Mac from Burger King. Quote

But looking beyond the final score, the reality is we are a mediocre team, with only 2 good players. the rest of the roster is horrible (and with big contracts, btw) the offense is not creative and heavily depends on individualistic efforts 1 Quote

I had been streaming games until tonight. I had to follow the game on ESPN gamecast. To my amazement, most of the action was from Paolo Banchero, followed by Franz (mostly from Banchero). It was like reading a chat transcript online. There was hardly any interaction from other members of the team--for example: Banchero attempts a jumpshot...Banchero grabs a rebound...Banchero makes a jumpshot...Banchero grabs a rebound.......... Yeah, I saw Franz name once and a while, also, WCJ and KCP added something to the win. But I hardly saw any other players' names. This did not look good. 2 Quote

Even after a huge win tonight! Thank goodness I am always positive here. I never see the glass as half empty. I never doubted this basketball team. Remember that old song by Journey? "Don't Stop Believin". We are clicking at just the right time folks. Look up the word positive in the dictionary and you will see a picture of me beside the definition holding a sign that says, "Don't Stop Believin!" GO MAGIC! Quote

For me, it was like when I was able to watch the games won, maybe it looked good because I could see the game (visually), but when I had to read the Gamecast, the script gave me a whole different perspective about how, method, or approach to the way the Magic were playing Quote

That's a total disaster quite frankly. It's like watching paint dry on a Tuesday afternoon in Buffalo while listening to elevator music. You have to see the action to truly feel the action. I have used Gamecast before and it was awful. When you're watching the game, you can see the effort and intensity. It's like night and day. Quote

That ship has probably already sailed! But in all seriousness, I do agree that the team needs to make a couple of moves in the offseason. Two more consistent shooters and a solid PG and then we become a serious legitimate title contender. Paolo and Franz need a PG to lighten their burdens of handling the ball so much. It will create even more space leading to wide open shots. As for the rest of this year? Just finish strong and act as though we are playing with house money going into the playoffs. Have that nothing to lose mentality while playing free and easy. At that point, anything can happen. And then hopefully the FO makes the necessary changes in the offseason. In a strange way there is actually a feeling of less pressure watching these games with lower expectation levels. We aren't expected to make any noise in the playoffs so we can play a little more relaxed compared to other teams like the Cavs and Celtics who are expected to win. Speaking of doughnuts, there is nothing better than a jelly doughnut any time of day! Quote
