2024/2025 General Game Thread

WTF did i just watch? Our defense is great but we aren't going to go far with this poor of shooting/offense. How can Jett a specialist shooter have only 2 attempts in 20 mins? why not run some plays for him instead of letting JI, AB and our rookie shoot 21 *****ing 3pt attempts. Its honestly so painful to watch. Yes, the defence is great but these wins are mostly coming against teams with lots of injuries. The 1 team we played recently that actually defends was the Clippers and they owned us. Year in year out we are the worst shooting team in the entire league, what gives?

That was one of the worst games of basketball I've ever seen. We were terrible on offense and Charlotte were somehow worse. A win is a win though.

Tough night for Tristan. They dared him to beat them and when he missed a few in a row he got hesitant and then they could sag all the way off him. Similar thing happened with Black. And they were selective with it too, they ran KCP and Jett off the line all night. It bit them a little bit because Jonathan Isaac just kept shooting them and eventually got a couple to go. Smart defense from the Hornets though really, they seem well coached on that end, if they weren't so incredibly loose with the ball they'd have likely won that game but they had like 500 turnovers. 

Against these not great teams our defense is often enough but still you'd like to not be totally inept on offense.

Also shout out to Cole. His best game of the season by far when we really needed some positive guard play. We don't win that game without him.

Always nice to win the ugly ones, but that was gross! 9-1 stretch without Paolo is incredible and unexpected.

We’re 12-7 and 3rd in the East!! We’ve got 7 more games left until that “bye week” where we’re off from Dec 9 - 18. Most of those games are on the road, but there aren’t any world beaters in there, so if we go 4-3 or 5-2 in that stretch, we’re looking at 17-9 or 16-10 through 26 games and maybe getting Paolo back and a nice home stand through the end of the year starting on Dec 19. Sky’s the limit, Go Magic

Actually we only have that week off if we don't clinch a spot in the Cup's Quarter Finals. And we are in a good position to do it!

Ahh, good call. I was just looking at the espn schedule and noticed the gap, forgot about the nba cup and how it could play a role. Yeah, that won’t be as long of a break as I thought, but that’s a good thing.

Please don’t exaggerate.  I think they only had 490 turnovers :)

Looks like we’ll be getting Suggs and WCJ back for tonight’s game against Chicago.

I guess the WCJ-Goga debate is now real (!)  

It's just good to have Jalen back, hopefully he'll be okay physically.

You never know what will happen against Chicago, but the games are always neck to neck. They are a team with almost no major injuries (I think Patrick Williams is out), which is rare in our recent schedule.

Goga and WCJ starting tonight. Interesting to see if it works, in theory it should since WCJ can stretch the floor. Curious to see how they look on defense though.

I wouldn't have changed something that was working, especially if the other option is play two C together.
