2024/2025 General Game Thread

We're so inconsistent right now. We can't follow a good game won in the last minutes with another one growing up. Our defense sometimes resemble the top one that has us winning games, and then disappear in the same game. We had all the momentum in the end of first half, and throw it all away in a couple minutes of the 3rd. Atlanta is a much changed team with no time to train together (but everyone was contributing, just look at their stats and ours with only two players involved) and no Johnson, there're really no excuses for losing against them, especially at home and with Trae having a pretty normal game.

Although Mike can talk he got Wendell that new contract this summer that's doing nothing for us lol

I'd be surprised if it wasn't about the lack of moves anyway. Mike likely placed the Paolo comment in the summer about wanting a guard to try and pressure Jeff into making a move. 

The problem is the regression of Wendell, and inability to trade him, and the fact that Paolo has been injured for 2 months and hot garbage for a month since he returned are two of the biggest reasons we suck so it's kind of funny that the agent for both of them is so angry. 

Franz Wagner's agent. That guy should be angry lol.

You guys are late on Mike Miller feeling about the front office. Around the 25 min mark you can hear he was a little frustrated with Weltman's approach to improving the roster.

We seen this over and over again. We lost yesterday because of the lack of a PG who can effectively run an offense. 

You can’t run it through Franz and Paolo and play dribble dribble dribble offense. It’s not consistent. And in these situations when Paolo and Franz are forced to playmake, that’s when we see the TO, dribbling through heavy traffic. Put that Ball in Trae‘s hand (for example) and let him break down a defense and get Paolo and Franz in Position. It would also be awesome to have Franz make these deadly cuts of those situations then.

This ^ or Mosley learns how to draw up an offense other than Horns.

How did i not see this before?

Family is cool and all, but Paolo wants to win and make his legacy. He won’t be able to do that on solely family love atmosphere. 
 

Mike Miller makes exactly the arguments we fans make! And unfortunately Weltman didn’t listen. It’s almost too late to make the necessary moves. The upcoming offseason is about the last opportunity in a while to make somewhat of a splash. 

KCP is cool and all, but that doesn’t make you take that next step as a contender. That ain’t like what Boston did when they added their missing piece Jrue Holiday (and people sometimes forget Porzingis)

100% of Paolo's bad game is conditioning BUT THE ISSUES ARE MORE MENTAL THAN PHYSICAL. I'm sure the staff has to be working with him....got to fix him one way or another ASAP.

Paolo Banchero has a plus/minus of -87 this season.

Franz Wagner has a plus/minus of +132 this season.

What a melodrama Paolo's return has given this team.....a 2 and 9 record. Not all is his fault obviously (questionable FO & Coaching) but all eyes are on him.
