2024/2025 General Game Thread

I have a feeling this is going to be another lopsided loss tonight Magic fans. Something just seems to be off with the team right now. It's like they are just going through the motions out there. Add to that the fact that the game is on ESPN. When is the last time the Magic won a game on either TNT or ESPN? Probably when Dwight was still here. And whenever they do play on a national broadcast they get blown out. I expect the Celtics to do more of the same of what other Magic opponents have done recently. And that is they will pack the paint while double teaming Paolo and allow us to launch a bunch of wide-open 3's. Currently we are by far the worst 3-point shooting team in the NBA. We are getting close to setting all-time record lows. And not only do we miss a bunch, but a lot of them are either air balls or glass breakers. It seems like we have lost that grit. P-5 can't do it all by himself.

Unfortunately you’re very likely to be right.  However there have been 2-3 times this year where the Magic were coming off bad losses where they were highly expected to lose again, and somehow they didn’t.  So I will hope for the best while expecting the worst.

If they play with energy and determination, especially on defense , we always have a chance.  If they come in with the attitude that they have no chance, and then, as you say, just “go through the motions”, then we’d be better off just forfeiting and not even bother playing.

Which Magic team will show up tonight??

We've won tough games when both Paolo and Franz were out, now that Paolo is back we should be able as well. We just need to find a little stability and have a couple healthy bodies back.

The issue is when we were winning ball games with Paolo out, it seemed like most everyone else was healthy. We got Paolo back and the basketball gods shunned us by hurting everyone else or making them sick.

Oh Great Baskapulalulalu

Grant us some healthy players in thy divine mercy!  In return we offer up the Celtics.
