I'm with you on this. The talent of Paolo and Franz and the defensive consistency of the team are very exciting. We have lapses of games that we are a very good team, but we can't yet do it in a consistent way and at a level similar to what most ring winning teams have. And it's totally normal and part of the process, no one should expect anything different with our 22 and 23 year old stars. In my opinion, going into the playoffs with home court advantage and fighting in the second round would be an excellent year for the Magic. But more importantly, this year is about improving the team, finding ways to play and win games and building the experience that will pay off a couple of years from now.

Putting such high expectations on this young team can lead to frustration. You have to be competitive and do your best, knowing that this year is just a stepping stone to future achievements. It's also about being realistic and watching other teams' basketball games, so you can see how they play, what level they are at and how championship teams are built. If we just navel gaze we most likely won't learn much.

KD out at least a week with a sprained ankle, so he won’t be playing in Orlando on Sunday. We could legit be 18-8 going into the Cup quarterfinals with a Paolo return on the horizon

I agree with your take but it’s got to be a legit two-way PG. Not sure who that’d be. The perfect type of player would be Jrue Holiday, but he’s married to Boston.

Even w/o Paolo, we still get lucky on these early schedules. A confidence builder type of games. Most of our opponents were decimated by injuries.
