We’re at an interesting spot IMO. I might get flamed for this, but even with a healthy Paolo I think this game goes similarly.

We need a calming vet influence at the 1 when things start to unravel. Or, we need to admit that our ceiling is probably a 3-5 seed in the conference with a ceiling of probably making the 2nd round of the playoffs this year. Which there’s NOTHING wrong with considering how young we are. The tricky part is Paolo and Franz have gotten too good too fast for that to feel satisfying. I hope we make a trade. We have the assets and the time is now.

Embarrassing.. oh well. On to the next one. The nba cup is stupid anyway :)

+1  Never understood it or why it was thrown in during the regular season.

We need a third scorer. Suggs is too inconsistent to fill that role, especially if the 3 ball isn't falling. He become a bull in a China shop when his shot isn't falling.

Exactly! Suggs was so out of control. It was so difficult to watch. I don't know if he was trying to show out because the game was televised on national tv or to prove something else, like getting a picture of himself printed on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He was just that bad.

I haven’t been downvoting anyone.  Use up all my votes on upvoting.  And no, don’t want us to lose, which is why I was very disappointed in how badly we were outclassed tonight.

This was a brutal reality check for the players, coaches and fans.. It’s not doom and gloom but this game clearly showed us our missing piece. Of course it looks different if Paolo is available. But that’s not all.
We are asking Suggs to be a Scorer, which he is clearly not. Same goes for KCP. They are Top 5 3 and D players, but they are not comfortable and consistent as an offensive option.

Also it showed that It’s ok to move on from Howard. He’s kind of a project, but i don’t think he will develop into that type of Scorer we are missing. He kinda folds when given opportunity. You have to make shots if you play minutes, especially if that is your NBA skill. Otherwise your not playable on a winning team.

Once again and it’s probably tiring for most. But we need to go out and get Simons or Cam. Cam would have dropped 30 on the Knicks. There is plenty opportunity for scorers, we just don’t have that player to use it.

it’s also kinda sad for this team. They should have had a chip on their shoulder for almost being snubbed of this national TV game. But ultimately, they didn’t do anything that should make the NBA give the Magic more national TV attention.
Same story last season. We played OKC and also got blown out.

At some point you have to reflect as a fan and as a team and realize that they are right not to have national TV attention if we constantly get blown out in big games.

It was a terrible outing and experience for national TV. The announcers had little attention to the game, because it was mostly boring.

All good.  I’m sure most Magic fans were at least a little upset after the game last night.  We play again tonight, a good test for this young team to see if they can forget about the last game, and focus on playing well in the next one.  Could be a blessing that we have another game so soon; we will see.
