For what? to draft mid round and get a mediocre player like da silva? is not about the tree anymore, is about the forest. 

Plenty of mid round players out perform lottery picks. 

Plenty of lottery picks become just guys. 

There are like 5 guys minimum drafted before Da Silva last year who wouldn't have helped us to actually win any more basketball games this season. 

Also "3 first round exits in 6 years" is a pretty disingenuous way to phrase it when it was: 

A first round exit by a below average team with a low ceiling. 

Years of rebuilding

A 7 game first round exit by a young team post rebuild. 

This year which hasn't actually happened yet. 

The idea we're some treadmill team because a team who's best players are 22 and 23 didn't get out of the first round last year and likely won't this year is bizarre to me.

There needs to be more context to your post.  When your top two players are Vucevic and Aaron Gordon and you get knocked out in the first round.  You are  mediocre and will never be a contender.
 

When your top two players are Wagner and Banchero who are 22 and 23 years old and you get knocked out in the first round. You a have two young stars who get experience. We are only going as far as those two take us and develop.  The point is we have two legitimate AllStar already. Vuvevic isn’t Paolo and Franz. This is not the time to tank.

For me personally, I want to see the Orlando Magic win basketball games. 

I understand tanking. I endorsed tanking at the start of the Hennigan period and then again after the end of the Vuc/AG era. 

But you tank for high end talent. High end talent like Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Once the talent is in the building it's time to be trying to win. 

I'd rather get bounced in 5 games in the first round than be looking at the 12th pick in the draft trying to convince myself that the teenager we're about to draft will suddenly take us from 40 wins to 60 wins. 

The secret about this draft class is, honestly, the 16th best prospect and the 12th best prospect are a very similar calibre anyway.

I just don’t get this. I mean, yes the seeds are pretty much locked in, and Paolo looked tired last game, so I would understand restricting their minutes tonight; but unless a guy is injured, not playing hurts their timing, stamina and momentum, and the change in rotations throws everything off just when you’re trying to build some consistency prior to the playoffs.

Buying game tickets this time of year is a waste of money. Might as well go watch Maclung in Lakeland. Wilt is shaking his head at these guys.

OKC never tanked? When did they tank? They are where they are with savy drafting and duping other teams in trades. We were one of them. Geesh how wrong can you be?

very good decision to play all the bench warmers. they need to improve a lot
