TMF I am very old lol. I remember every player for The Magic.  Darrel was a great sixth man for sure and one of my all time favorites. But yeah Suggs is one of the 3-5 best defensive Gaurds in the NBA that’s why he made the all defensive team. We have never had a guard on our team make the all defensive team I believe.  If you like the heart and hustle team I don’t know how you wouldn’t like Suggs. Heart and Hustle is in his DNA.

It’s not his fault he is playing PG. That was managements decision over the summer….they were wrong lol

I respect your opinion, MagicMan1979. I was a fan of the Magic from the very begiinning too. But, in my opinion, these are different times. The defense played by teams today does not hold a candle to the days of the Detroit Pistons--known as the "Bad Boys".  I know you remember those days, as at my age, I do also.

Remember that game where point guard, Isaiah Thomas, was injured but didn't want to come out of the game? He limped on "one toe" the entire game, and the Pistons won

I am sure that I’m an absolute Spring Chicken compared to you two, even though I’m old enough to collect Social Security.  But I do recall Steve Clifford raving about MCW‘s defensive skills and how exceptional he was in that category.  I will now go to bed as soon as I can find my nose mitten, and get up from this rocking chair.

Haha great post!   He was a great defender for sure.

Well Magic fans there is a little over 18 hours left until the trade deadline. As of now nothing has been done. And be honest, are you surprised by that? I'm not. I knew the FO would stand pat once again. And we will probably hear the usual lip service as to why no moves were made. They will say things like "we explored many options, but nothing ever came to fruition". Or they will use the injury excuse, especially regarding Suggs. That's why he is not playing recently. Just like I said he will probably return to action the first game after the trade deadline. Then they can say "we just needed Jalen back in the lineup to help stabilize the defense and yada, yada, yada". And somewhere deep down they know that tanking for the draft is another option. It's always the same old player assessment excuse. The bottom line is if you are totally committed to putting a winning product out there on the basketball court then you will get things done to help facilitate that. And if you are content with the fine line between rebuilding and mediocrity then you get what we have come to expect here in Orlando in recent years.

Jimmy Butler has been traded from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors as part of a 5-teal trade which also includes the Jazz, Pistons, and Raptors. Dennis Schroder is part of the deal. He is heading from the Warriors to the Jazz. Wouldn't he have been a nice fit here in Orlando playing alongside the Wagner brothers? They are certainly familiar with each other.

And?, , , er. . .So? (directed at JJZL). I don't know if you read my post some time ago that Suggs style of play reminded me of Michael Carter Williams who played recklessly, out of control and was always injured.

The point of my reply to MagicMan1979 was to say that being named to an all defensive team means nothing if you can't stay on your feet. Suggs doesn't  help the Magic win games if he constantly gets injured from over-aggressive play resulting in injury.

I dot understand how Moseley still hasn’t figured out that one of Franz or Paolo need to be on the floor for all 48 minutes.

This x 1000000.  It’s my number one issue with him.

Preferably with as few minutes as possible together. They do not play off each other well on the floor. Wonder how many assists they average to each other.

The 3rd quarter has been a struggle for us recently. Opponents have been scoring 35-40 points and pulling away where we never recover. Hopefully it is different tonight. I like the effort thus far. Paolo seems to be more engaged. Good to see Goga scoring again. Also, AB seems better coming off of the bench. I agree with posts stating that either one of Paolo or Franz needs to be on the floor at all times. Tonight, there was a stretch when they weren't, and the offense looked lost out there and sputtered badly.

Now this is Orlando Magic basketball at its finest! The ball movement. The attention to detail. The focus and intensity level. The active hands defensively. Being aggressive and not settling for jumpers. So far so good. Now let's close the deal!
