Worst medical staff in the NBA I'm worried about Suggs long-term. He had a career year last year and stayed pretty healthy... suiting up for 75 games. However, the two prior years he only played in 48 and 53 games, and now he's hurt again. His intensity is a game-changer, but it's also often reckless. Some of us have been saying this for a while. I just hope he proves me wrong.

Worst medical staff in the NBA who would've forget the grant hill conundrum that suddenly can play a whole season when playing with suns.

I’m honestly surprised it took him as long as it did to get a long term injury

He stays on the floor on his back and butt too much, trying to be a hard-nose defender. . .sometimes landing into the cameramen sitting on the floor behind the basket. Daryl Armstrong was a hard-nose defender, but I don't remember him getting injured like Suggs and missing a lot of games.
MagicMan1979 146 Report post Posted February 5 I agree Suggs takes a lot of hard falls and hopefully can cut back slightly. It’s sports though in its hard to not try 100% and Suggs gives 110%. That’s why the national media always loves him. He truly plays as hard as humanly possible sometime to his detriment. But do not forget he made The All NBA Defense Team last year! He is a way better defender than guys like Armstrong and MCW. He is on a whole different level than those guys defensively. I also think his shooting improves like last year with Paolo and Franz back. We really need him at shooting guard like his career year last year. He is just not a natural point gaurd. "He is just not a natural point gaurd" - My reponse: That's why he gets hurt a lot. Playing a position that is not his natural playing position and trying to do too much. "We really need him at shooting guard" - My reponse: Exactly, because that is his natural playing position, a position that does not require hard cutting. "He is a way better defender than guys like Armstrong" - My response: You've got to be kidding me! You don't remember the "Heart and Hustle" duo Daryl Armstrong and Bo Outlaw? They were the talk of not only the Magic but the NBA. Do you not remember he played on the team, not only with Bo, but Nick Anderson, Penny Hardaway, Dennis Scott, Horace Grant, and the list goes on. MagicOne 139 Report post Posted February 5 I just saw an article online about the Magic showing interest in acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. They said nothing is imminent, but the two sides have been talking recently. Magic Fans what do you think of Jimmy Buckets possibly coming to Orlando? Or is this just a bunch of hot air? I still think nothing gets done at the deadline. And that will be very disappointing on multiple levels.

Link: https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ORL/1998.html TMF I am very old lol. I remember every player for The Magic. Darrel was a great sixth man for sure and one of my all time favorites. But yeah Suggs is one of the 3-5 best defensive Gaurds in the NBA that’s why he made the all defensive team. We have never had a guard on our team make the all defensive team I believe. If you like the heart and hustle team I don’t know how you wouldn’t like Suggs. Heart and Hustle is in his DNA. It’s not his fault he is playing PG. That was managements decision over the summer….they were wrong lol

But, in my opinion, these are different times. The defense played by teams today does not hold a candle to the days of the Detroit Pistons--known as the "Bad Boys". I know you remember those days, as at my age, I do also. Remember that game where point guard, Isaiah Thomas, was injured but didn't want to come out of the game? He limped on "one toe" the entire game, and the Pistons won

I can’t imagine how impossible Jordan would be to guard with these current rules!
Luke_FfS 287 Report post Posted Wednesday at 11:29 PM Too much time has passed by and the rules are really different, impossible to compare IMO. I don't see any connection between playing out of position and being awkward and often injured.
