Been saying this team CANNOT shoot for years now and we need change.  All I gets is downvotes

Same my guy but we need to stay the course. More and more fans are starting to wake up and realize this.

Two things. It was going to get worse before it got better, they really need the break to rest and reset things.

Number two, all the criticism is valid. Our GM makes about 3 bad moves or picks for every good one they make.

It really, really seems like Suggs and Mo Wagner's energy are vital to team chemistry. But just like everyone else on the team they can't shoot this year, so we would probably still be losing . Defense can only carry you so far. If we had them we probably squeak out 2 or 3 of the last 10 losses, but i bet we would still be losing, teams have figure us out.

And to those left defending the GM's stop it. Paolo was a great pick but he was always the number one guy, the bull**** about Jabari was other teams and agents. I bet our GM really wanted Chet and probably changed to Paolo last second. Franz could have been picked because of the Michigan connection, that's it.

Most of the other picks have been disasters. The talent they bring in has always been B or C level and they always get worse here.

This team even when winning looks more like the heart and hustle team.

We do have talent on this team, that is the big difference from now and 2017. However they do need better roster construction.

I do not expect a trade. But if we do please, please use Isaacs contract. It's non guaranteed and the biggest on the roster. We can't trade WCJ because of the stupid extension and Mo's injury.

Again i do not expect a trade but they need one in the offseason.

Our core 3 is Paolo, Franz and Jalen. Anyone else on this team is tradeable. Saw a stat earlier today that among qualified players with at least 100 3 point attempts Jonathan Isaac is in dead last in the league in percentage and AB is 4th to last. The KCP signing was a failure. Jett was an awful, wasted pick. The Wendell extension was a terrible decision. We don’t have a single point guard on this roster to make life easier on our offense. We have one of the worst 3 point shooting teams of all time. And we have a GM who refuses to make any moves to address any of our weaknesses. It’s okay though, at least we’ve got plenty of guys smiling and laughing on the bench while getting boat raced by a bad team to cap off a horrible January of basketball. I’m legitimately angry..

With both AB and JI, we've clearly traded shooting for switchable defense. The problem is Paulo and Franz can now easily get doubled on offense. The same happens with Goga and Carter on the floor, as neither of them can shoot either. Something's gotta give. I'd like to see us go feisty and fast with the following starting lineup:

Suggs

KCP

TDS

Wagner

Banchero

There’s gotta be more guys in the league that can play defense AND shoot, right? This whole history of drafting bad shooters and planning to fix them clearly doesn’t work. I like your small ball lineup idea for spurts but I think there’s still a pretty big issue on offense. Part of the issue is while Paolo has improved as a passer, his handle is awful. Franz is clearly our point forward and just needs to knock off some rust, but we desparately need a point guard. Like picture that lineup above but swap out KCP with Fox… I’ve come around to the idea that I’m willing to give up pretty much any non big 3 asset we have for De’Arron and live with the results.

For me the biggest problem with any Paolo at 5 lineup is defensively. Where's the rim protection coming from (definitely not Paolo)? I presume you run that with the idea of switching everything defensively? If so are you happy to live with KCP or Suggs trying to keep a big off the offensive glass? And conversely are you happy with Paolo or TDS chasing around quick guards? Just doesn't work for me really.

Paolo can not guard most centers in the league. He has no lift to block or defend 7 footers. He really needs to lose fifteen pounds and do some dam cardio. His energy on defense is sucking the life out this team. Also his pounding the ball incessantly and ONLY looking for his middy is disgusting and also deflating everyone else on the court. Franz is the only all star on this team right now. Period.

Paolo, WAKE THE F*** UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew Nembhard appears ripe for the picking, but don’t judge an NBA team’s books by its cover. The Indiana Pacers are in a money crunch for 2025-26, approaching unfamiliar territory: the luxury tax. Nembhard’s contract structure could provide an opportunity to avoid it. Other teams have noticed, dialing up Indiana and making significant offers for the third-year guard who has become an essential contributor. But talks haven’t gone anywhere, according to league sources in contact with Indiana. The Pacers love Nembhard, are confident about the current roster and could break financial tradition next season, paying the luxury tax for the first time in two decades.

I think we should jump all on this if he becomes available. Get a third team to take on KCP contract (they both signed similar deals) and add the Denver pick.

If he's available I agree we should try and get him but I doubt he is.

I agree 100%.  And playing "small ball" will not work for the Magic. You need a good point guard.

Some time ago, when the Warriors were winning championships, they were good at playing small ball with Draymond Green at center and Steph Curry point guard.

I'm so over Cole Anthony and his poutiness when things don't go his way on the court. I am sick of seeing the closeup on the screen of that frown on his face when a foul is called against him. Then he argues with the refs and coach Mosley has to call him off to the side to calm him down.

Last night Cole and another Blazers player fought for the ball. Cole stepped out of bounds under the basket, then threw the ball back in to a teammate. He argued with the ref. that he was inbound when the replay showed he was clearly out.

I want Cole traded and I don't want to see Suggs playing point guard. He's too reckless.

The point guard, or lack thereof, problem that some of us argued vociferously to fix over the summer now becomes more evident.  We were told in response that “positionless “ basketball was the new norm and point guards were outdated.  Apparently not.

Aggravating that problem is this idea that our two stars should take 80% of the shots when the starting five is on the floor.  Even if we had a good PG, we’d still be in trouble if we continue down that path.  Like I said before, Goga only got 1 shot in 18 minutes last night.  What happened to our pick and roll?  Last year, even with Joe Ingles as slow and predictable as he was, we still managed to utilize the pick and role a heck of a lot better than we are doing now with better personnel.  What gives??

In their defense, they could tell that the positionless version envisioned has basically never played together all season, except for a few games. It's a point worth to consider, but at the same time couldn't be an excuse. Last playoffs a mediocre Cavs team already exposed our weakness. We've been standing pat a lot of deadlines and draft days, and in the future the possibility to complete trades will be limited.

Could be a key moment for the future and hopes of this group. Let's see if they're able to reconsider and deliver.
