Stinger24 2 Report post Posted January 31 13 minutes ago, All Eyes On Me said: Our core 3 is Paolo, Franz and Jalen. Anyone else on this team is tradeable. Saw a stat earlier today that among qualified players with at least 100 3 point attempts Jonathan Isaac is in dead last in the league in percentage and AB is 4th to last. The KCP signing was a failure. Jett was an awful, wasted pick. The Wendell extension was a terrible decision. We don’t have a single point guard on this roster to make life easier on our offense. We have one of the worst 3 point shooting teams of all time. And we have a GM who refuses to make any moves to address any of our weaknesses. It’s okay though, at least we’ve got plenty of guys smiling and laughing on the bench while getting boat raced by a bad team to cap off a horrible January of basketball. I’m legitimately angry.. Been saying this team CANNOT shoot for years now and we need change. All I gets is downvotes
All Eyes On Me 1,330 Report post Posted January 31 I want 2 trades. I want a Simons trade and I want a Sexton trade. Simons for KCP and the nuggets pick. Portland needs help on defense, we need help on offense so it makes sense for both sides. Then deal Cole and Jett for Sexton. Sexton/Suggs/Franz/Paolo/Goga AB/Simons/TDS/JI/WCJ
CTMagicUK 1,620 Report post Posted January 31 Had the score spoiled accidentally. Not even going to bother watching. I'm gonna guess same old ****.
Jamesdin 66 Report post Posted January 31 2 hours ago, Stinger24 said: I will get multiple downvotes as I always do but this team is better without Paulo. He has been consistently negative in plus minus and it goes back to last year. This team was flying without him we actually have a sample size. Suggs, Franz, Moe, and Goga should be the core moves need to be made we have the sample size what more do you all and the front office need? and you wonder why you got downvoted, lol. Paolo is a big part of our future, obviously something is not right with the team but you don't give up on your star just because of bad string of game specially coming from an injury. His confidence is on all time low it seems. team needs to regroup and hope that the break helps them. the deadline is probably on some others head as well.

Vibes don't substitute for winning basketball games and I just hope Weltman and Parker have the balls to admit that something needs to change. We're mostly healthy now, "injuries" no longer cut it as an excuse.

I agree with the most of that, and I'm not even convinced that our core 3 is good enough to win a title. When those same observation were made earlier, a few users here were considered "bad fans" only cause they weren't considering great any single move the FO was making. But that's unfortunately how it works, when we win and in offseason everything is great, but when we lose... I was hoping, and actually believing, that we were going for "revenge" after the bad home loss against them a few games ago... but we were actually as bad as that one, and that's really disappointing. JJZFL 700 Report post Posted January 31 I didn’t watch the game last night due to the late start ( of course that’s always an issue on W coast trips) but I’ve been going through some of the stats. In the first half we had 50 shots to their 38. We had 3 turnovers for the entire half, they had 7. We got outrebounded by 5, not such a big deal. Yet at the end of the half we were trailing 62-53. How did that happen? We shot well from the foul line in the first half but only had 7 free throws ( made 6). They shot a worse percentage but had 16 FTs and made 12. We shot 22-50 overall in the half. They also had 22 baskets but on only 38 shots. Of our 50 shots in half 1, 15 were three pointers. We made a total of three of them. They shot only 11 threes, but made 6 of them. Not sure how to put that all together other than as a failure on both ends of the court. In the second half we apparently gave up and got obliterated so I’m not going to review those stats. We were also coming into this game on an extra day of rest (last game Monday). One more thing (sorry). Our starting five took 49 shots altogether. 40 of them were taken by Franz and Paulo. While neither had terrible individual stats, I don’t believe that those kinds of numbers translate into wins most of the time. Paulo had 21 points on 23 shots. Goga had a total of one shot for the 18 minutes that he played.

We started the game on a 10-0 run, too. The big change that Portland made is they dropped to zone and just dared us to shoot and nobody on this team can consistently. Also, it was typical Magic basketball where Portland got a few favorable calls and we didn’t so the aggression went away and the heads started dropping. The Blazers give up 114 points a game, 119 when they play at home. We scored 79 and 90 points against them this season. Unacceptable
OnlyFranz 322 Report post Posted January 31 We suck and will continue to do so until Weltman wakes tf up and finally earns his paycheck. Funny how Milwaukee became a title contender shortly after Weltman left. He’s good at starting rebuilds just not good at finishing them. Didn’t watch the game but no need to it’s the same thing every time and it’s getting old.

Only thing left to hide behind is Jalen Suggs’ injury, and if he’s that important where we aren’t even a competent team when he doesn’t play, he needs a lifetime contract. So he has a proven track record of not being able to get it done and yet we’re trusting this guy to get it done? Cheers to another wasted year at the trade deadline, can’t wait to see what those cash considerations look like!
