Great first game! Go Magic!!

Whooped the Heat in Miami finally on the Pat Riley court dedication night with all Heat Alums present.

Paulo with most points on a opening night since Shaq in 93.. could have matched or exceeded Shaqs 42 if he played a competitive 4th qtr.

That third quarter we were just the best team on the floor by a mile. Everyone was contributing. Everyone played hard. Paolo dominated and looked comfortably the best player on the court at all times.

KCP, arguably our best shooter, shot 0-5 and we still made 36% of our 3s.

A couple years ago I'd have been so hyped by that win but now we almost expect excellence. Still, beating Miami in Miami is always tough.

what a great victory.. We will be the best defense in the NBA if the refs let us and if we stay healthy.. Opponents just can’t get a break, we don’t have too many weak links that opponents could decide to attack..

Imagine getting clamped up by Suggs and KCP and think you get a breather when the subs start kicking in, but then you find yourself getting locked up by AB and Harris in the backcourt. And then Isaac comes in as well.

In this game, imo that elbow to KCP that wasn’t called right before half was a game changer for the refs. Imo they talked it over and let us play in the 3rd quarter.

A collection of stats from the box score:

Paolo Banchero +42

Paolo Banchero 0 turnovers

Franz Wagner 3/6 from 3

WCJ 14 rebounds

Anthony Black 4 assists 0 turnovers.

Also shout out Suggs, KCP and JI who don't have any super standout box score numbers but defense doesn't show up on the box score and they were all excellent on that end as usual.

Paolo really looks well improved with the careless turnovers.

the whole team in general. Nice to see as it was a point of emphasis going into the offseason.

AB looked good as well. Finally as aggressive and like a floor general, when he came out of college.

Paolo Banchero of the @OrlandoMagic is the only NBA player to have a game with 30+ points, 10+ rebounds, no turnovers and a plus-minus of +40 or better (since plus-minus was first tracked in 1996-97).
