2024/25 NBA Regular Season Thread

Recommended Posts

Yeah there is a lot of potential to this trade deadline..

1)Teams looking to shed money to stay under the apron

2) teams looking to tank because of top heavy potential franchise players

3) teams very selective on max contracts and potential max extensions

that’s not what has been said. It’s said that that’s a preferred destination.

When they start to say things like that one, it's usually not a good choice to trade for them, or you'll have problems soon.

watch for the Pelicans. Murray has a season ending injury.

Bad news, this one of the guys I wanted for us, even if he's having a down season and FO wasn't clearly interested in him last season when was traded.

Question: Would you rather acquire a guy like White/Sexton or Cam Johnson? Why?

My A, B and C priority is and always have been a PG (with 3p shooting, smart, and reasonable good on assist). Reasons were explained multiple times. :)

From Zach Harper and The Athletic:

Quote

What if we put Fox on the Magic?

How does he help Paolo Banchero? Immensely. That’s how. The Magic struggle so much in getting offense generated because they simply don’t have guards who can consistently break down the defense to set things up. Fox is elite at that. Banchero would benefit by having much more efficient opportunities to score. The same would apply to Franz Wagner, for that matter, as you’d turn him from a secondary weapon on offense into a tertiary option who takes advantage of a weak defender guarding him on nearly every possession. Reliable scoring and clutch play from Fox would boost this offense from being an awful eyesore into being an attack you have to creatively game plan against.

How would he fit into the team concept? Let’s just assume that Fox can join the Magic without too much disruption to roster construction due to existing salaries. I think he’d thrive under Jamahl Mosley. Defensively, he can disrupt and help create turnovers. The Magic are so sound that Fox gambling really wouldn’t create an issue for them. Offensively, they could re-map their entire system to have a two-man game between him and Banchero to create the easiest of opportunities for the rest of the guys on the floor. As I mentioned above, I can’t emphasize enough how easy life would be for Wagner.

How does he help Paolo Banchero Scale of 1-10, how good is this idea to put Fox on the Magic?  I think this is a 10. I’ve been dying for the Magic to get a lead guard to balance out things for the past year.

Utah have traded Patty Mills and Drew Eubanks, (to the Clippers for PJ Tucker, Mo Bamba and a 2nd) not massive parts of their rotation but still men they'll be down tonight.

It got LA out of the tax for a couple guys on expirings. Not a big deal, but at least a deal happened lol. I’m not mad the Jazz won’t have Eubanks, he always seems to hurt us
