Yes and yes.

So could Castleton play for us on one of those?  Are those considered two-way contracts?

Again, why isn’t McClung called up?

Does anybody know?

He could but we'd have to give him one and no they're not. We could give Castleton a 2 way contract if we wanted because we have an open spot so in reality this is probably just a G league move that means nothing for us.

The Magic have proven, when they let Jett stay in the G league despite all the injuries last year, that they're quite happy to go short handed versus calling up players that they don't think will help them win.

The question then becomes, why did they bother giving McClung a 2 way anyway if they don't think he could help them in an NBA game? The answer to that I have no clue. Sell tickets to Osceola games maybe?

There's a lot of weirdness about the way the Magic have not really utilised their 2 way contracts this season beyond Queen despite all the injuries. McClung has played in 1 NBA game in garbage time and we've had an open 2 way spot all season. Why? Are we penny pinching the 500k or whatever it is?

But then last season we had something similar with Kevon Harris who didn't feature for us at all despite looking like he could be a rotation player when he played the year before.

Also with Queen playing regularly in every game lately (due to injury but still) we have to watch how that progresses because a 2 way player can only play in a maximum of 50 NBA games (and can't play in the playoffs) and he's played in 15 with 40 games to go. Odds are we get healthy and that doesn't become a factor but one to keep an eye on if he's still in the rotation post trade deadline.

I understand, but an earlier post (think it was All Eyes) noted that we’re down to the oft injured Carter in the Center department, and maybe Isaac although he doesn’t play too many minutes and has never really looked good at center.  Certainly if anything happens to either one of them we’d have to bring in somebody?

Re-Signing him after KCP was already a surprise, and when we would have needed him through a lot of injuries, is unavailable again... trade filler it's his only reason to be here right now. And it's a shame, cause he was a really good player before that injury derailed his career years ago.

The reason they traded him was that he was constantly letting seemingly minor injuries keep him off the court.  That pattern certainly hasn’t changed since he’s been here.  If anything it’s gotten worse.

I think I like the idea of Sexton more than I like him, but I do think he’d excel as a tertiary ball handler and scoring option behind Paolo and Franz and should be able to do a lot with less defensive attention paid to him. Part of the conundrum here is we all agree we need a shake up, but we don’t want something that hurts our chemistry or a deal that doesn’t actually impact anything and there’s honestly not a ton of exciting guys available via trade.

Uh-uh, All Eyes. You cannot tell me you do not have a second computer screen open--watching  the game--next to your "work" computer, using terms like "tertiary" and "conundrum."

Look, I know you must have a highly professional job because when you post, most times you are not in the same state or you are out of the country.

I, as an "Ordinary Joe/Nancy", had to look up  "tertiary" and "conundrum." Haha!
