I’ve had the 19th penciled in for awhile as well. If that’s the case and we lose in the cup quarterfinals we only got 2 games without both stars

I’d be stunned if Paulo comes back in 2024

The same exact injury is surely some sort of new level of bad luck.

At the same time, injuries happen to all, a lot of the teams we beated recently had huge talent level absence, and that Paolo and Franz injury is not the one that should create long term issues like torn ligaments and similar worst ones. Both will be back in good form I hope, and maybe that little "forced rest" will help in the end of the season, when it matter most. Both were involved with USA and Germany in the summer (even if in different ways), and could have been a long season for them.

In the meantime, we need to use that good record we have and try to win each single game with lower franchise. Each one will count as gold.

Next man up..  Suggsy needs to get to the rim as much as possible then begin to take 3s when open...  That's the success route for him moving forward

You are right Jay....it's Jalen time to show that he too is a star in this league. To me, Jalen is pound per pound one of the best players in the league.

Two torn oblique injuries has nothing to do with bad luck or coincidence.

It has more likely than not, something to do with their training routines, workouts or whatever. They have to evaluate what is going on.

But i do say this. It’s rare that both of your star players have the same unusual injury. That’s kinda bad luck.

This is exactly what i was thinking. Gonna mostly not post until  after Christmas and Paolo comes back.

Stop accepting the last decade. Embrace change. Downvote me all you want but the best management did was ignore obvious bull**** and draft Paolo. Next best thing was lucking into Franz. Don't give into anything else, they owe us for a decade of misery. Now we shall see if all the other moves were **** or OK.

Lot's of bad moves and tons of what ifs. I'm sorry but i still see them more lucky then not. This is giving them 1000% extra points for ignoring some obvious agent and NBA propaganda to get them NOT to draft Paolo.

It's like my beloved Miami Dolphins never drafting a good offensive lineman. No more excuses.

Lucking in to Franz is a very weird way to put it when he was seen as a reach by most scouts when we took him at 8 overall. We did luck into Jalen at 5

Read what you said. Let's sum it up. Good win tonight. Franz is amazing, Paolo is amazing! Super win by everyone else, even Cole who will not be with this team when we win a chip.

Sorry if it needs to be said. WCJ contract was a mistake because we can't trade him for an upgrade now. Goga is the man, Isaac still isn't here when we need him.

The players we have now like each other but not all of them are good.

Nuff said?

i wish we could trade Cole,WCJ,Jett, ect for Vooch and Tyus Jones could be here opening games and Suggs could finish. You want a title or not?

This organisation selected and developed Franz Wagner. Scouts said he might be a 3/4 tweener and as a rookie we played him at PG and SG at times (partly due to injuries) to develop his ball handling. The idea that we lucked into him when literally nobody was saying he was this good is wild. We also brought in his brother for free off the scrap heap in a move that is one of the more underrated moves they've made because it likely helped Franz settle to have his brother around and Mo Wagner became one of our important bench pieces at the exact same time. I think Mo Wagner was actually a culture setting move too. A guy who was almost out of the league who scrapped and clawed his way into being a legitimate NBA player.

Everyone crying we can't trade WCJ because we have Goga but they ignore that Indiana literally gave up on Goga and this organisation brought him in and developed him so much so that he literally said this summer he wanted to stay because this organisation saved his career. Nobody wants to give any credit to the decision makers for that?

A few years ago Rob Hennigan traded Oladipo and Sabonis for the corpse of Serge Ibaka, now we've got an actually good front office (not perfect by any stretch, nobody is) and people still want to complain about it when they've built the best team we've had in a long time.

The people who want to trade WCJ, Jett and Cole for some random scoring guard who plays no defense are the same people who'd have traded Vuc for a packet of chips before he had his all star years and became valuable enough to net us the pick that became Franz. Fans aren't patient. But this front office is and usually it's proven to be worthwhile for them to be patient.

Tyus Jones being the big point of contention for people is absolutely mind blowing. He's the starting PG on a team with a worse record than us who we just beat without our two best players.

I just can’t understand it either man. I tried to put it into context that he wasn’t signing here due to wanting 30 minutes a night to get his next contract.  Once again don’t give management credit for drafting or hiring Mosley either. Oh well. Great response as always CT.

We are somehow 17-9... without our star... and now without our second star. Weltman and Co. have won my trust.

I think the following moves have been savvy and unexpected:

  • Drafting Paulo
  • Trading Vooch for WCJ and two 1sts... Then using the first of the two picks to grab Franz
  • Drafting AB, who has crazy two-way upside
  • Drafting TDS, who is a a perfect glue fit
  • Grabbing and extending Mo and Goga
  • Drafting and being patient with JI
  • Drafting and being patient with Jalen
  • Signing Mose to be our coach

Do I love everything Weltman has done? Of course not. But he and his crew have demonstrated an ability to identify talent, build a winning culture, and be patient in their development plan. I still believe we are a year or two away from really competing, but I remain curious as to how this group will grow as individuals and as a team. Go Magic!

Plus an additional 1st round pick - Denver - this upcoming summer in a year that the draft class is expected to be superlative. The west is clogged and Denver is not doing that well. There is some chance this is a pick in the middle of the round.

Plus the rights to swap in 2026 our pick with either Washington or Phoenix can also land us a higher pick than ours. Believe it has to be the worst of the two which would probably be the Phoenix one. KD will be almost 37 next season. Chances that Phoenix has a worst record than the Magic next year are good in my opinion.

Obviously all of these facts have to translate into our 1st championship as soon as 2026 or 2027, I'd say. No more, no less we can take anymore :-)
