No disrespect but a 23 year old who is averaging over 20 points a game is not gonna be moved for what we have to offer. It’s just not.

I think we have exactly what they want..

Anyway, this is a question for the trade deadline. But i have no doubt that Thomas would be a great player for us. Somewhat a missing piece. Somebody we can also give the ball to close out games and make big shots. i also see some JJ Redick abilities shooting off these screens.

Also he’s just 23 years old, i believe he has a lot of room to grow and learn team ball. He never had to do so.

DFS would just be icing on the cake.

He will most likely be moved this year from what I have read and posted. Probably not to us for a poo poo platter though.

They didn’t extend him but he is still a restricted free agent so he will have some trade value.

I think he is a great six man but probably not ever going to make an All Star Team for his many deficiencies.

Really? I just don't see any reason for the Nets to move him UNLESS he has shown them he will not take less then a rookie max, which he isn't even close to being worth.

He should get a contract like Anfernee Simons. The only reason to move on from him is if he said he wouldn't take less. The league has a salary floor and the Nets need guards to go around Flagg if they get him.

perfect for us. We don’t need another all star.
We need a heater off the bench or next to Franz and Paolo who can stroke it and open up lanes.
Cam is a guy, who needs so much attention. You can’t double Franz or Paolo if Cam is out there. He can score at any level.

It’s not like we are giving up core players. The debate is if we can get such a player with Cole, Harris and our picks. Shoot, if we also get DFS i’d even through in next years top 10 protected 1st.

That’s a whole lot of value for those players.

I understand Brooklyn not extending Cam. They also want to trade Cam Johnson on a reasonable contract. They basically want to blow it up, similar to what Orlando did with Fournier, Vooch, AG. We and they aren’t going anywhere with that core.

Like you mentioned, Cam Thomas isn’t a number 1 or 2 option imo, so why would they commit that money to him. They want clean books and they want a bunch of picks to rebuild really quick.

With that trade, they’d have 5 first round picks in a great draft!

They’d have the financial flexibility to add via Free Agency as well.

Could we even afford to extend Cam Thomas and stay under the second apron? I don't think we can but haven't done the hard math.

11 out of 12 wins. Another one hopefully coming on Sunday then a big game on TNT in MSG on Tuesday night.

This season has been so much fun so far.

I think we do. Even if we are over the second apron, it would only be 1-2 season. Then DFS and KCP, Mo Wagner come off the books. But we also have to worry about AB and Howard extensions.

I still can't believe we didn't even try to get Tyus Jones. Last night in a win over the golden state warriors, 19 points,9 assists one turnover with 4-5 from 3 point range.

Shaking my damn head. And oh yeah he is basically playing for the minimum.

Quick edit. I bet all they had to do was promise him he would start. Who cares who starts a game? I would have sat Suggs down and said your not "starting" but your the future of this team and you will get more minutes. That's all it would have took i bet. NBA general managers are idiots, you guys should be NBA gm's.

I know about half of you would be better then current NBA gm's.

I guess I'm not in the half then because I certainly wouldn't have benched one of the best defensive players in the NBA for Tyus Jones.

I love people still complaining about management while we are third in The East without our best player.  We are one of three best defensive teams the last two years.

Tyus Jones does not fit this team at all.  He would have taken away from Black as well.

Can our GM get any credit for drafting these awesome players and picking the coach?

GO MAGIC!
