That PG group isn’t going to get us there.  We need a quick guard who can effectively get into the paint without frequent turnovers to get things going on offense.

slide Suggs into SG and bank on AB's development.

here's mine

PG: AB, Fultz, Tyus Jones

SG: Suggs, Monk, Anthony,

SF: F. Wagner, Howard, Houstan, Okeke

PF: Banchero, Isaac, M. Wagner

C: WCJ, Bitadze

Hope Fultz is amenable to a vet minimum. Jones minutes increases depending on match-up. only problem here is the minutes of Anthony, it sure will go down with the arrival of monk. crowd fave Joe is out in favor of chuma.

incremental change only, just addressing a little of shooting and playmaking.

Counting on AB to become our starting PG next year would be an enormous gamble.  PG is arguably our greatest weakness.

I know it is a gamble, that is why we sign Tyus Jones as plan b.

AB would be there, just hoping it get's accelerated.

I'm not actually certain that AB will ever be a starting PG.  Not sure that's even his natural position.

What do you think his natural position is? He isn’t SF and won’t fit either in SG.

He's a defensive elfrid for me.

I think we need to get away from thinking of our roster as traditional, position-based basketball. We just need a guy that can shoot, defend and handle the ball to compliment our current pieces. It’d help if he can takeover if others are struggling and he can create in the half court. I think Paul George is at the top of my list this summer as our 5th starter taking the Harris minutes and splitting ball handling duty with Franz and Paolo, as long as it’s a short term deal, like 2 year with a player option or something like that.

I have been against any big FA signings because we just won't have the cap space in 2 years if that's the case to sign Paolo to a max extension without going over the luxury (I would assume) with Franz and Jalen up for extensions this year.

But if we can sign someone like a Paul George on just a two year High-dollar deal, then I'm probably more for it. I don't want to give up our cap space long term to an aging star. The problem is I think that LA makes a more compelling offer than what we'd be willing to give him. The Clippers are in a bad place right now with Harden and Kawhi - they HAVE TO win now. It is a MUST for them to keep Paul George and hope everyone is healthier next year, and I think they give a 3-4 year max offer to him to keep him.

I just don't see us overpaying for a single player. If it's a two year deal for a high performer... sure. But with Paolo, and likely Franz, on max deals, we just have to be very careful with how we allocate the rest of our cap space.

This is precisely why we should use cap space now while we still have it. It just isn’t going to be available once those guys are given extensions either way outside of the MLE
