Something about this list seems wrong to me. Among other things, KAT is on it but Jokic isn’t?!? I like Suggs, but I don’t think he’s that creative a passer, certainly not #1.

Yeah I’d like to know the methodology they used to come up with that.  Seems absurd from just a casual look.

Here is a better "list".

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-top-100-players-ranked-how-lebron-james-jayson-tatum-anthony-edwards-stack-up-ahead-of-2024-25-season/

Top 100 players in the NBA. Make sure to notice the very bottom where is shows how many players each team has. Magic end with 4.

Paolo right ahead of Chet is interesting. Suggs and Franz pretty high and KCP round out the Magic.

The comments about Jalen at that link are interesting given that we're back to asking him to play point guard again:

Jalen Suggs Orlando Magic SG
Last year's rank: Not ranked. Good things come to those who wait. Jalen Suggs was almost unplayable offensively when he got to the NBA. Emphasis on "almost," because Suggs was so dang pesky on defense that no number of missed 3-pointers could keep him off of the floor. Those reps paid off for him last year, because his 3-point shot hovered around 40% without any decline defensively (in fact, he was better there too). The Magic probably have to make peace with what Suggs isn't at this point. The hope that he could grow into a primary ball-handler on offense that partially informed his draft position has likely faded. But if he's going to be among the NBA's best perimeter defenders and a knockdown 3-point shooter, that alone is more than enough to warrant inclusion on this list. He's a shooting guard, not a point guard, and once the Magic fully embraced that, he turned into the player he was always meant to be. -- Sam Quinn

Apparently the Magic haven’t embraced it because KCP is a shooting guard (or maybe small forward).  Someone has to bring the ball up the court and start the offense for the Magic and by process of elimination, that’s Suggs.  So I’m not sure what the guy above is talking about.

I guess about two weeks to training camp, and then preseason games start very shortly after training camp begins.

Mike Ginnitti from Spotrac about Jalen Suggs extension: “I did some deep dive on this, uh, because he definitely had his best year. Most of the Magic players had the best year, and they’re peaking high, and we saw certainly Franz get maxed out. Uh, and generally what happens again, the October 21 deadline is not that far away when you put it into perspective, so this is going to become a real conversation soon. The general perspective on these things are if you’re a scoring player anywhere in the top to 15 of this draft, you’re just going to get maxed out. That’s kind of the trend these days. And if you’re not, if you’re more of a role player or defensive minded player, even though I think those guys are harder to find right now, you’re just going to have to deal with maybe a little bit more team friendly. So something around four for 115 seems to be the number that I keep hearing for Jalen Suggs.” What are your thoughts?

How we will survive without Woj spoilering every single draft pick? :P

Don't worry Shams will still do it.
