How do y’all feel about Free Agency..

could we see a true surprise? Nobody is talking about Maxey. It doesn’t seem like he’s available. But honestly. He’s a RFA and if you go out and throw a max at him, the Sixers will have to match that. Seems like they will, but the Sixers do tempt to do crazy stuff in an attempt to win now quite desperately.

So how does it go if they are looking to add Lebron, PG 13 and other veterans they might like?

Could they look to add Lebron and PG?

If so, no way they can match Maxey.

I don’t think it’s a realistic scenario, but boy would that be a heck of a young core.

Nope we had our chance to Draft Maxey. Restricted free agents don't move unless they are mediocre. Maxey ain't going anywhere.

One thing i am happy about, this was the first year in over ten i couldn't care less about the draft lotto.

Congrats Atlanta Hawks! your on the Clock!

I think there are some good names further down the list of shooters we could add that wouldn’t break the bank, tho I am still hoping for the pipe dream of George and Monk. PG names are pretty bad tho, makes me hope more for a trade but more likely makes me expect Fultz to be back

Don’t think we’ll get further in the playoffs without substantial improvement in our PG.

There aren’t a lot of great Free Agent PGs though I do think Monk and Suggs could work as starter potentially.  We might have to make a trade for a  PG if that’s what we want.  I want more high level talent personally so if we miss out on George I would trade for a high level PG.

I'm just not convinced that this team is going to spend money now on a guy who wants a long(er) max contract to then struggle to stay under the salary cap with signing Suggs, Franz, and Paolo to big deals. We're not a big market and can't really push the cap too much.

I was thinking what someone like Buddy Heild could help as he's seen as a good defender and, from my understanding a really good 3PT shooter... but I just looked at the stats and last year, he shot 38.4% from 3PT. You know who shot 39.7%? JALEN SUGGS.

I don't think we need an elite expensive PG. I think we need a guy who can play good defense, make good passes, and knock down 3PT's. Someone in the similar mold of Mike Conley or Jrue Holiday. Let Paolo cook and the rest of the team play good team basketball.

https://sportando.basketball/en/gordon-herbert-officially-to-leave-german-nt-after-paris-2024/

Im telling you, this would be THE perfect lead assistant coach for the Magic! He is a well educated X and O coach, knows how to exploit mismatches (which we weren’t really great at) and most importantly he has the same mentality that Orlando has established and is becoming famous for. Family mentality and team oriented basketball.

He really made the german national team locker room special.

We are just not going to be under the cap when we those three get new deals. Ownership has shown the willingness to spend over the cap before when it meant competing so I’m not too worried about that.

I think I probably agree we don’t need an elite PG, but we do need someone. Paolo is a bit away with his handle from being a full time ball handler, plus even then someone else needs to be able to handle the ball. Also those two you listed are way different players and also both have high salaries anyway

I love Fultz, but he not who we need as a starting PG. We need someone that is a threat from 3 that will stop teams from packing the paint to defend against Paolo and Franz.
