I always forget that the trade deadline is just like New Year’s Eve part 2 for me. All this misplaced excitement and anticipation for something to happen, but then just an uneventful day and disappointment after the ball drops.

SO, a question ... how often does this trade deadline fall 3 days before the super bowl?

I keep putting on ESPN looking for trade info, and its all super bowl

It’s newish because the NFL added a week to their season a few years back. I could see the NBA moving the deadline either a week earlier or a week later to make up for that. I know they don’t want the stress of the deadline on players during all-star weekend, so maybe the move is to push it up a week while the NFL is on its off week before the big game
