I really don't care too much about this tournament to be honest.

Also these special court designs are a horrible viewing experience.

This “tournament” is a joke and a money grab, nothing else. The court designs, I agree, weird and unnecessary.

Designed that way, it doesn't really make any sense. I already said last summer that I would have liked some kind of tournament as the ones that are made in Europe at the halfpoint of the season, but like that... MEH

it’s always about money.. they should actually reduce the amount of regular season games imo and play a separate in season tournament (march madness style)

Use January to get this done. Winner team gets cash for the players, teams get some kind of extra lottery balls for the upcoming draft.

This would make the fans care for it more as your favorite team gets extra lottery balls for the upcoming draft. And players would care because of money reasons. Winner also gets a smaller ring, MVP honors for the tournament.

I bet there are several possibilities other than just squeezing in regular season games and promote it as a tournament.

in my book it’s only regular season games. I don’t care at all for who is going to win this tournament

This is how I feel, unless we get to the final at which point I'll probably actually want to win lol.

Talk about weird schedules, we are the only team in the league that has not yet played a game within our division or conference. THE ONLY ONE!

And when we wind up in Mexico City this coming Thursday, I suspect we’ll have traveled more miles at this point in the season than any other team.  Nutty schedule.

It's madness. The first Eastern Conference game we play we have to travel 1200+ miles for.

And I just remembered that the elevation in Mexico City is ridiculous.  Over 7200 feet, 2000 feet higher than Denver :(

Lottery balls as the prize would be awesome. A legitimate reason for all teams to try and win, even tanking teams. It’s perfect. And because of that they will never do it lol

I feel like that’s the way to make teams and also their fans care about this tournament.

And players only would be engaged because of money. they could/should earn some price money for each round they accomplish with significant money for the winner.

And to make it even more worth, the winner team pays out 70 percent of that money to the players and staff and 30 percent goes to a charity of the teams choice. Teams could decide if the front office decides what charity or the players get together and discuss which charity they’d like to support.

That’s how i’d do it.

Since the best teams are most likely to win, why would you want to give them extra chances in the draft lottery?  Or am I missing something?

Not exactly.. March Madness style, anybody can beat anybody in a knockout game.

Its these series in the playoffs that makes it almost impossible for the small market teams to beat out the bigger teams.
