2022-2023 Trade Idea Thread

Recommended Posts

Is it ever too early for a trade thread? Given our struggles and need for shooting, here’s an idea:

Trade T. Ross and the Denver 1st

for

Moses Moody and a future second

Seems this could help both teams. Gives us a young sharpshooter, and gives GS a proven vet off the bench. I think it’d take the 1st because Moody is only in his second year of his rookie deal.

I absolutely love this trade.

It's also already too late for the Draft thread! :P

The problem is that the difference in salaries makes this trade impossible, and GS doesn't have any non-rotation players to throw in to make the numbers work.

Here’s a crazy one for you. Orlando trades our 2023 pick, Chicagos 2023 pick, Denver’s 2025 Pick Suggs and Bamba to OKC for SGA. It’s an all in move for sure but I think a core of SGA, Fultz, Wagner, Banchero, Carter Jr could grow into a contender for the next 3-4 years. It’s a lot to give up but seeing how great Banchero looks is making me want an established costar instead of another draft pick.

You'd have to throw in TRoss as well to make the salaries a closer match, but I actually don't hate this. Maybe make our 2023 pick top-4 protected, but other than that I would go for it. The only trouble is, I'm not sure that OKC would.

Yes, didn't look at the details. In this case, I'd still target Moody for the Denver first, as it'd still save them a lot of money considering their luxury tax problems.

White for Bamba works after Jan 15

Not according to the Trade Machine (https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine) it doesn't. Bamba makes about $1M too much for a straight-up trade, which means we would have to include other players from both teams; or include another player from Chicago to match salary, and waive someone to open up a slot to complete the trade.

White and Williams for Bamba and Houstan does work after Dec 15th, though. Not sure if Chicago would bite on that though, even if White and Williams have both fallen down their rotation.

I used RealGm's trade checker, which said it worked...not sure which is right.

Would love to trade Bamba, White would be ok but he’s pretty much Cole Anthony isn’t he? I’d be looking at Rozier from Charlotte, would love that Moody trade, Nassir little, and the big move I would make is 2 firsts ( Bulls and Denver) plus salary for Devin Vassel. Maybe they want our future pick instead of Denver. Would have to be top 4 protected but.
This year we need to draft at least one of scoot, Nick smith Jr or Keyonte George.
