Soul Bro 1,419 Report post Posted November 15, 2022 Last night we played Suggs a lot at point guard. My question: Why? We’ve been doing well with Franz (and Paulo) in that role, so why change now? The results were disastrous. The great irony, especially because we didn’t pick up his option next year, is that RJ has actually been more consistent and better than Jalen this year. If this team wants to consistently compete, our guard play has got to be loads better.

Both these players are being used in positions that are not natural for them which is good to try and learn to do other things, BUT. Not there primary job. Cause of injuries and this mngt. who will not sign a true point guard. This is where this team is at and struggling to run a competent offense.
CTMagicUK 1,476 Report post Posted November 16, 2022 Suggs will be fine. Oladipo had bad shooting high turnover games too and they have similar issues as young players (not natural lead ball handlers and inconsistent jumpers). And we don't even need Suggs to take the leap Oladipo did after he left us (though he's certainly capable of it), if he's just solid offensively + hustle and defense he'll fit in fine around Franz/Paolo + a PG and be a winning player in a Marcus Smart mould.
