Would likely only be available for a star-caliber player:

If Bradley Beal were available, these players are the kinds of prospects the Wizards would presumably be targeting. But since Beal, Zach LaVine, and most other All-Star caliber players aren’t expected to be in play at this year’s deadline, it’s unlikely we’ll see any of these youngsters on the move. The one exception could be Herro, if the Magic get serious about moving Nikola Vucevic.”

Please let this be true. Herro would have been a dream for vooch two years ago.

In the comments of one of Josh Robbins’ Atheltic round tables about magic trade partners, people brought up a deal with Portland based around AG and Gary Trent, which I think would be pretty good

If Gary Trent Jr could be had in a deal...it’s an absolute no brainer, or it should be.

Rodney Hood’s contract, Zach Collins expiring, and Gary Trent Jr for Aaron Gordon works financially.

They’d probably lose him to FA next year anyway. He’s going to receive a big deal from someone, he’s playing outstanding.

and honestly...they don’t even need him. With CJ McCollum returning, Anfernee Simmons potential, and still have Derrick Jones in the fold as well.

Trent Jr gives you all of Fournier’s scoring output but with a much much higher ceiling as a go to scorer with a real mean streak to him.

If that deal is out there...you have to make it.

What kind of deal would you sign Trent Jr to this summer as a RFA?

I think comparatively...probably somewhere between Dillon Brooks’ contract which is about $11.6 annually and Malik Beasley which is about $15 million.

Trent Jr is going to get you 20+ PPG where he can be more of a focal point offensively.

He was eligible for a four year ; $54 million extension...so he’s going to be seeking more than that after betting on himself this season. So you figure that would’ve been $13.5 million

Two years ago Herro wasn't in the league.

I also think Herro is overrated based on last year's playoffs.

The buy out market might be the enemy of a Birch trade. If guys like Drummond or McGee or Aldridge get bought out there won't be much market for teams looking to give us a second for Birch.

Thanks. I don’t know a lot about him. His shooting percentages look promising, but his lack of assists and free throws are a concern. Love that he’s only 22.
