Magic Vs Thunder - Wednesday, January 22nd @ 7:00 PM

Recommended Posts

Haven't read through this thread but our execution down the stretch was abysmal. Unforced TO's trying to force the ball into Vuc. TO by Vuc once we finally did get it to him. Missed FT's  by AG. Heaviliy contested early 3pt shot by Fournier and two fouls on Chris Paul 25ft from the basket gifting them FT's. The thing that's really frustrating is that sans the one TO by Fultz trying to get the ball to Vuc, these miscues were all committed by the veteran players on the team. We shouldn't have even been in the game and yet it was right there for the taking and we literally choked it away. We've seen a lot of this and this season has become a season of missed opportunities. We need to move on from the Vuc/Fournier combo. We gave them every opportunity and last year was the ceiling of where they can take us. We'll end up with 42-44 wins this season and another 1st rd exit and that will confirm our ceiling with these two as our #1 and #2 options. We need to move forward and hand this team over to the young guys, even if it results in a losing season.

What? Not even going to argue this but Henny's pride over that pick was the real downfall of his regime.Couple that with the power struggle with Skiles and he was doomed.

Should have let him go the minute Skiles quit.

We traded a late first that we didn't control 4 years in the future to move up and draft a player we looked at a position of need. That's not a bad move.

Trading Payton after year 2 would have been a dumb move. He showed enough to justify his development.

Why would we be interested in what Skiles thinks of players? He was right about Payton but was wrong about Harris twice. Coaches make terrible GM's. They're too close to the situation to operate with objectivity and continuously prioritize today at the expense of the future. We saw SVG fail at this, Doc Rivers fail, Thibs fail.

Yeah not a fan of opportunists. Not the best blueprint for success. Might hit a HW 1 out of 100 times.

That's not what that means. Making a deal today, good or bad, limits your opportunity for the future. So you shouldn't just make a move for the sake of making one. It has to fit a plan.

This trade deadline is going to be rough for every team. We can trade our pick to rent a role player without issue if that's what you want us to do. But then in the summer when Boston is suddenly interested in a brown for Vucevic plus picks deal we don't have this year's pick to move or when hield is off a poison pill we don't have an asset to include there or when Beal is eligible to be traded we now have one less thing to use to outbid teams with.

In the past there's been great players available that we can be picky about because they don't fit our timetable or it's risky to gamble on them because they might leave in free agency for a contender but there's not even those options this year. It's all unremarkable guys out there

Boston will never be interested in a Vuch for Brown trade. We’re not getting Beal.

You gotta get real man.

Vuch is Greg Monroe. No team is trading anything for him. We’ll resign Evan and continue to kick the can down the road.

2030 is legit.

I believe someone from the ringer said he expects us to resign Evan to a 4 year 80 mil deal? Let me try and find it.

Obviously they are speculations

They did. Brown’s value has risen. Vuch has and will continue to drop.

IF they trade Brown, it won’t be for Vuch.

Need to table this until after the playoffs.

Nah. People know what Vuch is and what he’ll do here on out. Same with Fournier.

Ainge isn’t stupid. If we’re talking about Sactown, ok,  not Ainge.

Ainge has a weird blind spot with centers. It's why they went into the season thinking Kanter was the answer.
