For that last spot we either need to go for an upside play (Jeffries, briscoe, random summer league guy, young first rounder that's close to being out of the league but might be worth a second or third look) or a veteran who can fill a role for a week reliably like Jamal Crawford, Meeks, sefolosha, Raymond Felton, luol Deng.

You're being too optimistic.

We caught a ton of breaks last season. Health. Opponents being unhealthy. Etc.

Top 4 basically means 50 wins.

I don't think I am being too optimistic personally but I hear you.

People doubted my 42-40 last season.

I definitely see us making more strides and challenging for homecourt.

I don't think it's anymore wide open than it was last year to be honest. The one thing we shouldn't bet on is staying relatively injury free. Injuries happen and they happen sporadically. For those teams who do limit injuries they are they exception. Odds are we aren't lucky enough to be afforded that benefit two years in a row. I think we will still end up in the 6-8 range with a similar record plus or minus 5 games or so.

Tier 1:

Milwaukee, Sixers, Toronto(With Kawhi), Boston

Tier 2:

Indiana, Brooklyn

Tier 3:

Magic, Heat, Detroit, Toronto(without Kawhi), Miami

Not much has changed from last year to me.

We are in your 2nd tier definitely.

Prediction: 40-45 wins.

Roster: Mozgov is really a waste. Waste of money and roster spot. Ideally, we trade Timmy & Fournier for better(?) shooting guard. I'd love to get Birch back and a shooter.

Stauskas anyone? I wonder how Jeffries will look in summer league. I also hate Frazier is hurt cause I want to see what we have in him.

Stauskas? Loooooool

I always defer to players who have help a team win games.........a proven commodity..........Briscoe fits that bill very well.

Couldn't Abrines frill both roles: kinda Vet with a little upside? I like his ability to spread the floor.  Certainly him over Meeks or Felton. Deng....washed.

We're talking about the 14th/15th spot on the roster.
