Rondo and Avery Bradley on the Lakers. Celtics fans on suicide watch.

Why? Those two has been injured for the past 2 years with little playing time and not productive when playing.

Boston fans are laughing about this more than anything. Whats next, IT?

That team is a very hard team to duplicate.   Much harder than any other model.

Also you can’t really win like that in 2019. If you can’t score you don’t win. With the way the game is officiated defense is, for lack of a better term, overrated. You still have to be able to play it but building a team around the thought of “we’ll be elite defensively” isn’t really a winning formula for today’s game.

Im also not sure we ever see a team again that wins without a superstar. We are living in the day of the superstar team. You aren’t winning with just a bunch of guys. Also, Detroit wasn’t a bunch of gritty nobodies. They had some players that were damn good on both ends of the floor.

He's been pretty bad since he left Boston

He's a good player. For me anyway. I rate him. If he can knock down the shot and play his normal defence it helps massively.

You can't just defend and not be able to score. You can make the playoffs that way but you want go far.

You have to do both. Favoring one over the other is pointless.

Well said and a delicate balance every team is trying to attain.  Not easy to do.  Great offensive teams surge to the top during the regular season but superior defense sustain you in the playoffs.  Toronto and Golden State balanced both the best this year as Toronto's defense the best and Golden State's offense the best while each was also effective on the other side of the ball.   I thought the Philly/Toronto series illustrated your above point the best.  GS/Toronto was also good at what you say until injuries hurt GS's offensive superiority. But good defense and offense both needed to win championships.

Yeah, the Warriors created some sort of false narrative where people thought they were bad at D. They’re elite at D, just double-elite at O. Points allowed doesn’t always equal bad defense, especially when you play at an off the charts pace.
