Magic vs Celtics - Saturday, January 12 @ 6 P.M.

Charlotte losing early. Amazing how pathetic they look when they aren't playing the Magic. Like night and day. Also Kemba looks about average too when not facing the Magic.

You know you got me with these funny quips. :)

I was gonna say they would want them to play with blindfolds on..like with that new movie that is out now. The one where you can't take your blindfold off otherwise bad things will happen.

So, a thought-

Unless the center in question is a transcendent player- think Jokic or Embiid- the center position these days can be filled with a “low skilled” energy guy (I don’t think these guys are truly low skilled, but I think everyone knows the type) without losing much.

Honestly, insert a player like Birch into any team’s starting lineup. How much worse would they fare? Most, probably not that much. And, while I think Birch is a nice player, he is hardly irreplaceable.

I don’t think the same could be said for any other position. And this goes to show why the value for Vuch doesn’t seem to be there. I would argue he is better than the main centers on most of the playoff teams. Yet he would, in my opinion, likely cause any team to improve only minimally.

That isn’t to say centers are not important. In the scheme of the game they are still very important, and their role is very important. But the difference between one and another, beyond the individual playing style, is minimal in comparison to other positions. In a way, centers are becoming the running backs of the NBA. Immensely important to the game, but not valued that highly because another center that can provide 80-90% for much cheaper isn’t that hard to find.

Kyrie was upset that his teammate did not give him the ball to make the final shot. He was pointing his finger at Gordon Hayward and had some choice words for him. I noticed that as they walked off the court.

I don't know what lessons we can learn from this game

Boston is overrated. Something is wrong with that team.

Yes. Absolutely. You want movement. High usage centers slow a team down.

You want a center that can be a dive man. To protect the rim. Get put backs. Occasionally space the floor. Dunk the ball on weakside cuts on dump offs.

Anything else is superfluous.

That's why I wanted Bamba. He can do those things. But, optimistically, he should never average more than 14 ppg. He just needs to be Clint Capella while also hitting some threes here and there.

To maximize vucevic is to play a very particular way. It kills movement. It's predictable. It limits our entire offense to a one on one play. Sometimes that works out very well for us. Other times it kills us.

Which is why I’m liking the freedom Gordon has been given lately with the second unit

What other factors? Not being funny at all just genuinely want to know what you mean by that.

Bamba is 6th pick, high profile.   Management wants him to get time.  Otherwise I guess they think it could reflect negatively on their selection.
