If you sign Vuc to 3-5 years on a decent size contract he will be unmovable if he goes back to the old Vuc we know so well, the one we've wanted to move on from for the last 3 years.

Yea I don't really care how he performs in the playoffs. I think it's best to move on. How many teams have made it to the 2nd rd with a center as their best player in the last 8 years or so? I'd venture to say not many. It's just not a winning formula especially when that center isn't transcendent?

For me, the Magic’s success this year stems from coach Clifford’s philosophy. His philosophy works with how he has utilized Vuc this year. The taste of winning can be a drug. Whether we keep Vuc or not, let’s not forget what we’ve been able to accomplish with a subpar roster (or are we really anymore).

The 6-0 stretch certainly has something to do with Fournier resurgence and the addition of MCW, as well.

Kind of but not really.

In the moment a lot of solid basketball teams look unremarkable or fluky until they sustain success and the narrative is rewritten.

The grit and grind grizzlies were a group of old cast offs, a below average starting point guard, and a second round pick starting at center. But then they sustain success and Mike Conley is suddenly the most underrated player in the NBA, Marc Gasol is a dpoy candidate, Tony Allen is an all time great perimeter defender, and Zach Randolph is a dependable scoring threat.

If we keep winning basketball games (beyond this year) the media will redefine the team to explain the success.

Isaac will be a dpoy candidate.

Gordon will be "underrated but only because of his role. Real basketball fans know he's fantastic and if he was on his own team he'd put up the stats of (insert flavor of the month forward)" a la tayshaun prince.

Vucevic will be the dependable veteran scoring presence.

And so on.

Chauncey Billups wasn't Chauncey Billups until he took down the Lakers.

Kobe was an all time great, then a player propped up by Shaq who couldn't win by himself, then an all time great.

Winning creates the legacy.
