So Melo is expected to come off the bench for the Rockets. What happened to his garbage attitude about coming off the bench?

If you look at every center drafted in the first round over the past 15 years they generally average something in like the 8 ppg 6 rpg 1bpg range (+/- 2 points and rebounds per game). There are exceptions like towns and both okafors but even future elite centers tend to struggle early like gobert, Steven Adams, Al Jefferson, Noah, and so on.

Bamba is going to spend at least the first part of the year learning behind vucevic.

Bamba is joining a team that isnt bottoming out. He's not going to get unlimited usage. He's going to fill a role and play into that role for a while while Fournier, Gordon, Simmons, Ross, and vucevic take shots.

Other players (Trae Young, Kevin Knox, Sexton) are going to have a bigger role on their teams.

We really need to lower expectations for Bamba this year as he doesn't need to get there all at once. A good baseline for first year Bamba should be basic counting stats that exceed what Biyombo did last year (with better advanced stats impact).

That's not to say that's who he'll be as a player, but it is what he should be as a rookie

Im hoping for Mo to have same sort of impact that Isaac had on our defense, and that we will play better as a team when hes on the floor. If he can stay healthy whole year its gonna be a fun year watching them play together.

Centers usually take a while to get acclimated. ROYs are usually high usage guards or wings, usually on bad teams.

Ayton is going to be ROY.  He's going to beast in Phoenix.  Bagley will get good stats too.  Doncic will have big games.  There is significant competition for Mo.

Yeah I don't even believe Mo will finish in the top 5 for ROY candidates due to the expected workload for him. He's more than likely playing off of the bench behind Vuc for a majority of the year unless he is traded and he is still very raw talent wise. I am more than happy to ease into the process with him. Ayton will most likely get it simply because of the amount of play time he'll get as well as his usage.

Ayton might not if Booker and Warren keep playing like they have in the past

Yeah there's no way Boston is getting 5 guys. They might get 4 but no way will they get 5.

Assuming health

Kyrie horford embiid Simmons Kawhi Lowry oladipo giannis kemba wall Beal are locks

The 12th spot will go to whatever team is having a really good start to the year.
