Macks deal is seemingly primed for a draft day trade. We can save a team $5 million in salary. I imagine he'll be cut regardless though.

Actually nyce just found out that this rule isn't applicable anymore. It's an old loophole that they closed 7/1/17 so the outgoing trade value is the guaranteed amount, not the total.

So basically our management probably wasn't aware of that cba change because there's zero reason to give Mack that contract now instead of a team option year instead.

No wonder my trades with Mack kept failing on the trade machine.

Yeah. It's a mistake by our front office. Mack is basically worthless now.

And what was he before? Lol

Potential trade asset to help another team cut salary. Now he isn't even that.

I am guessing we are only holding on to him now in case we don't grab a PG somewhere in the draft and still need a back up. Otherwise, why wait to cut him? Only other reason would be to keep him as a 3rd PG, and he is an expensive 3rd PG.

Probably smart to keep DJ if only for his shooting ability.

DJ is an awesome 2nd string an amazing 3rd string and the perfect guard to mentor an undersized point guard. Just gotta keep an open ear on his interactions with young:

"No no no you gotta shoot that shot not pass. You only pass if they're gonna pass it right back, like this-."

DJ to Young: "You see that boy with the Titanic haircut? That's Mario. Mario doesn't get the ball. He gets a ball fake and then you shoot. Gets him everytime.:)"

It may not be. It might have been a compromise between a 1 year deal and a 2 year deal between Mack and us.
