2018 NBA Draft Thread

Ayton seems to have pulled himself ahead of the pack and is the consensus number 1 guy based on what basketball twitter is saying.

I do think Trae will settle in between 5-7 once he does draft workouts and his size limitations become apparent.

If he ends up around 5-7, do we try to trade to get a second pick and get him? Or not worth it?

Really depends on the cost.  Usually the cost to trade up to 5-7 from a starting point that's pretty much outside the draft is ridiculously prohibitive.  See Boston offering 4 future non - Brooklyn picks for Winslow.

Ok, in that situation definitely not worth it.

He doesnt look 6'2

According to his profile on NBADraft.net he measured 6'1.5" in shoes 3 years ago at the age of 16 - Nike Basketball Academy

" Measured at 6'0, 158 lbs, with a 6'1 wingspan at the 2014 Nike Elite 100 ... Measured 6’1.5’’ in shoes, with a 6’2’’ wingspan and 162 lbs at the 2015 Nike Basketball Academy"

Yeah those nike numbers aren't usually accurate.  Like biyombo's arms got shorter between the nike hoop summit and the nba combine

So called experts picked curry where again? Athleticism is overrated!!!

read Curry' s draft breakdown in the 09 Magic Vs. Lakers final magazine. They claimed he had limited handles and would never take anyone to the hoop. Young is veru much a better player at the same age than he or Kyrie Irving. AND he leads his team wins unlike Markelle Fultz, doesn't defer unlike Lonzo Ball, and can shoot unlike Fox. He's arguably the best point guard prospect in half a decade. The kid can play, watch 10 games or so he's a legit player with a high iq, he's not over hyped

size limitations dont exist for elite talent point guards,  it's literally the one position where it simply isn't the case. I could name 10 former all star points shorter than Trae.
