How does Ayton compare to young Dwight?

You cant compare. Ayton is playing college basketball. Dwight did not. You cant compare college stats to high school stats.

Also, todays game is different that it was 14-15 years ago. Big college guys now play less of a post op basketball and more of a spread offense with more outside shooting.

It's easy to compare them by watching and notating strengths and weaknesses

So while they’re both hyper athletic bigs, their specialties seem to be on opposite sides of the court. Ayton’s size seems like it could be a bit of an advantage. I was just wondering how likely it would be for him to end up having a similar trajectory.

also, if we're building a team through the draft, one has to think we go trae or Luka. if we try to develop Isaac into that stretch 5 Chris Bosch then I don't see Hammond taking an Ayton. still though it's gonna be tough to peg who we want and one could make a case for our front offices favorites all the way up to the dream child Bamba

Isaac is never going to be a full time 5. He's a sf that should play some 5 in specific lineups.  Like draymond (though draymond was too fat to play 3 in the nba despite gs playing him there his rookie year)

As peeps have said, Dwight was much more polished defensively. But Ayton is bigger (legit 7ft) and has far more offensive skill and versatility, he can play inside and out. Dwight was a power guy however, Ayton, despite his size, is more finesse oriented. Doesn't consistently use his athletic gifts to punish people on the inside and will settle at times.

I think he can be better than Karl Towns but he's not as good as a prospect as Embiid.
