Magic Lace Up for the Pacers

What ball movement? Between nik and Evan, that's the only movement I see. Ross rarely even touches the ball. Gordon doesn't get enough shots. Payton is our best distributor but not if he is forced to send it to our black holes.

That doesn't say anything to make your point.

Drive and kick. Force the d to collapse and hit guys on wing or cutting players. Vuch needs get out of the lane to make this work which he is very reluctant to do even when Simmons is trying to do that vuc seems to get in the way. I believe nik thinks every play is designed for him. Lol

As soon as Payton kicks the ball isn't in his hands and we shift back to the same issues of Payton being in the corner with nothing to do.

Yup and then the lane collapses.

But that's the point.  We lack confidence if the guy running the point can't shoot with confidence.  Our best games this season involve Payton in the bench injured, unfortunately.  I believe it's time to move on from the Payton experiment.

What? Open shots are not what you want?  Please explain. He is kicking to open people. He is forcing the lane to collapse and finding shooters. If they close out on that shooter then swing it one more time. This is basic offense 101.

Yup but if it's his man is the one who goes to help while EP is sitting out in the corner?

So the starting lineup was a net positive last night.  Our best lineup was Augustin -afflalo- Simmons - speights - biyombo.  Mostly due to the second quarter.

Payton - Simmons - Fournier - Gordon - vucevic was terrible except for the fourth quarter where it was great.

Just a mess.  No trends can be taken from this

That's crazy. You can't even find a combo because you know the best lineup won't be the next game.

Yup, a hot mess.

Then give to Payton and vuc or Gordon set up a pick and roll or he drives from there.

That's a lot of plays in 24 seconds. To rely on that every possession is a horrible way to play offense.

We need a PG who can shoot. It's just that simple.
