I just think hindsight is so strong.  No one saw Mitchell being this good or else he would have been taken sooner.  So saying that there won't be anything like him outside pick X doesn't really make much sense because he clearly wasn't a "can't miss" guy until he was.

Bet if he was in this draft he wouldn't be so can't miss. I mean there was something there. 6'3 sophmore who improved his shooting from as a freshman that could jump out of the gym. Issue is he came out when you had a ton of potential who were athletes coming before him. I mean look at where DSJ and Monk were taken.

Again, subjective.

I don't like the depth of this draft compared to last years. If this was last years coming up, I'd be just happy standing pat knowing DSJ, Monk, etc, could be there. Bridges, Bridges, Knox, and maybe Sexton? Pfft.

We really have to. We have to really figure out their true value. Wether we keep them vs trading them. Every year that passes their trade value will be higher in my opinion. Test the market in the offseason and again in the season.

Fourniers number are getting better each year. Somehow, he might be of interest.

Will see. But I like where we are with isaac, gordon and our next 2018 first round pick. I am hoping we can get into another first rounder this year. We will have to wait and see. I think we can be good next year.

Edit: add Berch, Simmons,  Iwundu our 2 second round picks and hopefully Mario.

Dude, the league knows who they are.

Buddy, everything seems to be bothering you today. Lets be open minded here  and block that negativity for a sec.

Is not about liking them but more about their contracts and how will any if them will be of any benefit. Injuries, roster movement etc..

Each year things are different and players value around the league also changes. What if Vuch defensive rating improves and becomes a better overall defensive player or at least average?

I am sure, last year Payton value was higher than this year Payton even though his numbers were better this year. And most likely next year value might be better if he signs a contract comparable to Lou williams in the offseason.

Sometimes is more about the cap space than the quality of certain players.

Nah.  Nothing about Mitchell's college career said he'd be this.  He was supposed to be another typical Louisville combo guard that people liked because he could play defense and shoot a little and could be a solid three and d guy.

I admit I didn't watch any of him before the draft but after just watching clips of him at Louisville, damn! 3 and D with that athleticism and solid handles? Good ability to create space?  I would've been all for taking him. I'm surprised he went under the radar.

It really does happen a lot. A lot of people thought Klay Thompson was a reach where he was drafted; he was a low-ceiling guy who wasn't supposed to be able to keep up defensively and would just be a spot-up shooter. Eric Bledsoe was a 2-guard with not enough handles to play PG and not a good enough passer. Paul George couldn't get his own shots. Kawhi Leonard was too unskilled to play SF. Draymond Green was, hilariously, not considered even a good defender, on top of being too small to play PF. Khris Middleton was too slow. C.J. McCollum was too small to play SG. Rudy Gobert was too skinny and didn't play hard enough. Gary Harris wasn't a good enough ball handler and was too small. Rodney Hood was too skinny to play SF and not quick enough to play SG. Myles Turner ran funny. Devin Booker didn't have a good enough 1st step to get his own shot, and he wasn't 'long' enough. Malcolm Brogdon was slow, couldn't jump.

Just how good the late gems in the draft are varies, but there always are some. And often as not there are a couple potential stars there.

If I had time I'd watch more videos. I don't so I just watch players that's projected around where we're drafting.

i'm pretty confident vuc is not a difference maker when it comes to winning. and fornier is good, but to me he is more of a slashing 3 point specialist than someone to build a team around.

Maybe but

It could be nothing too.  But we have time.
