We just need to tank the rest of the season while new management evaluates the guys we have. The good news is that we are well within range to have the worst record in the league.

We can only bottom out if we trade everyone worthwhile. Then you’re left with little to evaluate, maybe Isaac if he gets healthy.

We don't have much worthwhile. Nobody is beating the doors down to trade for our players. Our starters would be an excellent bench on a good team.

that would be the only reason to maintain them but that doesn't really for our time table for winning which is probably somewhere between 3-infinity

YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW THAT YOU’RE TANKING

7. ORLANDO MAGIC (11-24, NINE STRAIGHT LOSSES)

I don’t want to be the one to break it to the Orlando Magic, but you guys are the Minnesota Timberwolves of the East. I’m not talking about the 21-13 Wolves with Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins that may navigate their way into a favorable playoff seeding. Orlando looks a lot like the post-Kevin Garnett Wolves trying to rediscover how to put together a proper basketball team. The Magic haven’t come close to making the postseason since trading away Dwight Howard.

In that trade, they ended up with some assets and Nikola Vucevic, who shows a lot of similarities to the Al Jefferson the Wolves received in exchange for K.G. Both big men put up solid numbers and leave you walking away wondering just how involved in the future they should be. Maybe Aaron Gordon is their version of Kevin Love — a potential stat-stuffer who probably finds success when he eventually moves to another team. Outside of that, we see a lot of intriguing parts to the roster with vastly incomplete levels of impact that probably don’t fit together at all.

Once again, Orlando is one of the worst teams in the league. Granted, the Magic have battled a bunch of injuries and Vucevic is now out for a considerable length of time with a broken hand. But that 8-4 start feels like a fever dream. The best way to prepare for the tank while making it palatable for the fans is to invest heavily in minutes and opportunities for Mario Hezonja and Jonathan Isaac. I know he’s their best shooter but we don’t really need to watch any more Evan Fournier offense. I know he’s shooting well but we don’t need to see any more Elfrid Payton opportunities. Just give us a healthy Aaron Gordon and let the young guys learn to fly on their own.
