Paul George trade?????

Recommended Posts

It's because George has made it clear he's not going to re-sign for anyone other than the Lakers. Indiana would have got a lot of weak trade offers and that must have been the best for them.

but we had no guarantee on Ibaka after his one year deal and at best we were 50/50 to keep him. Once again our team looks like the imbeciles they are....

Yup we took the same gamble on a guy who never made an all star team.

This is just infuriating.

To be fair those assets wouldn't have got us PG last summer and it'd be pointless us trading for him and wasting assets because he'd definitely leave but it still highlights how terrible that Ibaka deal was.

Here's to hoping Weltman is better..

Perhaps Ainge didn't want to take on a one year rental, but if all it took was Oladipo and Sabonis to land a star, surely the Celtics could have put a similar or better package together to get a star that could help them compete with the Cavs?

Beat the Cavs and gets to the finals, compete against the Warriors (if they make it to the NBA finals, they should, but you never know someone might surprise us) and perhaps he re-signs with the Celtics as a perennial contender rather than head to LA and a loaded western conference where the Lakers might not be a perennial contender.

Apparently the idea is they wouldn't trade him to an eastern conference team which is why they refused a Cavs trade for Kevin love or a Boston trade of 4 future draft picks

Or Pritchard thought those assets weren't solid. I can't believe Ainge didn't offer Brown, Tatum, the Nets pick, or the Lakers pick for Butler or George this summer.

Yeah i guess if we can assume Pritchard is incompetent enough to make a terrible deal he's also incompetent enough to completely misevaluate oladipo
