Yea I read that earlier. On a two-way contract. I was a fan of his coming out but he hasn't shown anything in the nba.

The interesting thing is he's not eligible to be a two way player. You can only be a two way player for a players first 3 seasons.

 

So now we get to find out if our front office is incompetent

If Payne gets called up and plays in one game isn't he accruing his fourth year of service thus making the two way contract illegal?

Nah, Josh Robbins and i worked it out. A player accrues a year in retrospect, not while its occurring. So Payne will be considered a fourth year guy after his fourth year, not during his fourth year
