So.... is this still the 5th rebuild or are we now on the 6th?

Build 1 up to Shaq and Penny

Build 2 up to Penny, Nick, Ike Austin

Build 3 up to T'Mac and Hill

Build 4 up to D12, Lewis, Hedo .. etc...

Build 5 up to Rob firing, Ibaka, Biyombo?

Build 6 starts with New GM, pres, and Isaac.

build 2 is just the tail end of build 1. If you want to consider that a rebuild we might be on rebuild 10 as post shaq penny is pretty much the same as the Jrich-dwight teams.

The Boston Celtics are finalizing a trade to send Avery Bradley to Detroit, league sources tell ESPN.

Damn! See that irks me.

You're still missing my point. We had the ability to sign two max free agents last summer and were unble to sign any. Orlando is a laughing stock amongst players these days and it is going to take years to recover.

the point isn't to pick a year, build up cap space, then blow it on whoever.

Teams sometimes miss on free agents. look at the last 5 seasons in Dallas.

Exactly. The free agent approach is not a good approach

Timing wasn't right. Guys are willing to take less to sign on a stacked team. Didn't always use to be like that. Money talked back then.

We just gotta draft smart, trade smart and not panic like we did with Otis and last year or two.

We haven't really put him in a position to take advantage of his strengths. We keep passing him the ball at the top of the key and posting him up like he's vucevic. Then you play him with Augustin who isn't a pick and roll point guard anymore. Or you play him with Payton and guys drop under screens which kills his role.

He was a very successful big man in Toronto, playing with a pick and roll point guard, in an offense that was almost entirely putbacks, dump offs at the rim off guard drives, and lobs. Why are we asking him to be the facilitating motion for the offense?

I agree we haven't put him in the best possible situation, as he was a successful player on a good team. But he has to get better as well. Seeing him fumble the handling of easy passes gets old.

they gave up morris for the ability to overpay Bradley next summer while they refused to overpay KCP this summer. and those two are similar-ish players.

and what the heck is boston doing with another combo forward when they have like 12 now?

true. one hallmark of last year was the Hezonja overly complicated alley oop to biyombo that gets fumbled out of bounds.

Morris can play the 4. Horford is a better 5 in today's NBA.

Theyre stacked with versatility.
